摘要： An aquarium filter having a housing unit which is adapted to be mounted onto a wall of an aquarium tank. The housing includes an inlet chamber for receiving contaminated water from the aquarium tank and a filter chamber for filtering the contaminated water from the inlet chamber. A motor unit is supported by the housing and includes stator laminations which can be energized by means of a coil. A removable unitary intake assembly is positioned in the housing. The intake assembly includes an intake tube for supplying the contaminated water from the aquarium tank to the inlet chamber. It also includes a rotor assembly having an impeller mounted on it. The rotor assembly extends into the intake storage chamber and is magnetically coupled to the stator laminations to thereby drive the impeller pump.

摘要： An aquarium heater including a housing and a tube depending therefrom. An electric heating element is disposed in the bottom portion of the tube and a thermostatic control chassis is disposed in the upper portion of the tube. The control chassis includes two opposing housing sections matingly engaged in a nesting relationship to form a cylindrical housing unit which snugly fits into the tube and supports a bimetallic thermostatic switch together with associated circuitry and lead wires such that the thermostatic circuit elements are maintained securely positioned within the tube. The housing includes a gasket situated between a lip of the tube and the bottom wall of the housing, and a locking ring which clamps the rim of the tube in place. The tube is thereby held securely to the housing independently of the control chassis. A vertically slidable actuator arm engages a circular cam surface in the housing, where the cam surface converts rotary motion of a knob into vertical motion to thereby move the actuating arm. The lower end of the actuating arm engages and positions an adjustable contact member of the thermostatic switch to thereby maintain the temperature level of the heater as close as possible to a desired value.

摘要： An undergravel aquarium filter having a housing assembly which can be positioned on an aquarium tank floor underneath the gravel bed and forms a water compartment between the housing and the floor. The housing assembly includes separable inner and outer sections in fluid flow communication with each other. An upwardly extending enclosure formed on the inner section includes air inlet and outlet members. An air stream supply is provided through the inlet member to a mixing chamber within the enclosure, thereby causing water from the tank to enter the water compartment after passing through the gravel bed, and therefrom the water and air can egress through the outlet member. Seats formed in the housing assembly can accommodate the feet supporting an air pump, whereby the air pump can be easily positioned on the housing assembly during packaging. A groove formed between the inner and outer sections accommodates passage therethrough of the pump line cord during storage of the line cord within the inner section. An air hose can be stored in the outer section. Extension funnels for the outlet member can be stored between the enclosure and the air pump. This convenient integration of the parts of the filter provides a compact assembly for packaging.

摘要： An aquarium air pump includes an electromagnetic motor-operated pump unit positioned in the housing of the pump and including two vibrating arms energized by the motor and each carrying a pump diaphragm forming with a closure member of the pump unit casing a pump chamber. Each vibrating arm is positioned on the casing to be pivoted to an operative position to close the respective closure member and a non-operative position in which the arm can be removed from the casing and interchanged. The pump housing includes a bottom part and a top part connectable to each other and sealed in the connected position by a peripheral seal. Cushioning cups support the pump unit in the pump housing to absorb vibrations.

摘要： An aquarium filter for mounting externally of an aquarium tank. The filter includes an intake chamber for receiving contaminated aquarium water from the aquarium tank and a filtering chamber in flow communication with the intake chamber for filtering of the contaminated water and subsequent return of the clean water back to the aquarium tank. An impeller unit driven by a rotor magnetically coupled to a removably attached electromagnetic stator unit serves to draw the water from the aquarium tank to the intake chamber through a removable intake tube assembly. A partition wall separates the intake chamber from the filtering chamber for the water filling the intake chamber to overflow the partition wall into the filtering chamber. Upon stoppage of the impeller, the water from the intake chamber siphons back into the aquarium tank. A narrow passageway provided in the partition wall provides a limited reverse flow of water from the filtering chamber back to the intake chamber upon drainage of the water from the intake chamber due to this siphoning action. After the siphon breaks, this reverse flow remains in the intake chamber to self-prime the filter for restarting.

摘要： A bottom aquarium filter for an aquarium tank including a substantially cylindrical container having an inwardly directed concave forward wall. A grill wall removably coupled onto the concave forward wall and defining therewith an inlet chamber. A removable L-shaped insert member includes a substantially circular perforated platform wall and an upstanding convex partition wall. The platform wall spacedly sits on the bottom of the container and defines with the container a filtration chamber above the platform and a clear water chamber beneath the platform. The partition wall mates in opposition against a rear peripheral section of the circular wall of the container and defines therewith an air lift chamber. A removable cover mounts onto the container and includes a mouth aligned with the air lift chamber. The cover serves to retain all of the members in unitary assembly. An air tube fits into a spout projecting from the rear peripheral wall and extends into the air lift chamber terminating in an air diffuser which sits in a depressed compartment beneath the base wall of the container. The air tube can serve as a handle for lifting the filter assembly. The assembly can be easily separated for cleaning without the difficulty in reaching any portion of pre-formed compartments.
