    Abstract: A display device, which is a slidable display device, includes a display panel and a data driver. The display panel includes a first display area, a second display area that is in one of a taken-in position and a taken-out-of position of the display device, and a pad area located on one side of the first display area. The display panel includes pixels disposed in the first and second display areas, and is driven in a first mode in which an image is displayed in the first display area or a second mode in which an image is displayed in the first and second display areas. The data driver generates data voltages based on pixel data, outputs the data voltages to the pixels, and controls an order of the data voltages output in the second mode.

    Abstract: A display device includes a display panel which displays an image during a plurality of driving frames, a panel driver which drives the display panel, and a driving controller which controls a driving operation of the panel driver. The driving controller divides the display panel into a first display area and a second display area based on an image signal. Each of the plurality of driving frames includes a full frame in which the first display area and the second display area are driven, and a plurality of partial frames in which only the first display area is driven. A number of the plurality of partial frames included in each of the plurality of driving frames is changed.

    Abstract: A driving controller divides a display panel into first and second display areas according to an operation mode, outputs a start signal indicating a start of one frame and a masking signal for indicating a start of the second display area, sets a basic driving frequency to a normal frequency when the operation mode is a normal frequency mode, sets the basic driving frequency to a frequency lower than the normal frequency when the operation mode is a multi-frequency mode, and outputs the start signal and the masking signal. The first display area operates at a first driving frequency and the second display area operates at a second driving frequency, and the scan driving circuit sequentially drives scan lines in synchronization with the start signal, and stops, in response to the masking signal, driving of some of the scan lines corresponding to the second display area.
