    Abstract: A foldable display device includes a rigid film. The rigid film has first and second sections between which a space having a first width is located. The rigid film is foldable about a folding axis disposed between the first and second sections. A first double-sided adhesive film is disposed on the rigid film. A lower flexible module is disposed on the first double-sided adhesive film. A second double-sided adhesive film is disposed on the lower flexible module. A flexible display module is disposed on the second double-sided adhesive film and includes an electroluminescent unit. A third double-sided adhesive film is disposed on the flexible display module. An upper flexible module is disposed on the third double-sided adhesive film.

    Abstract: An electroluminescent device includes a lower structure and a flexible encapsulation multilayer. The lower structure may have an emission area and a peripheral area surrounding the emission area. The flexible encapsulation multilayer may be disposed on the emission area and the peripheral area. The peripheral area may include an inorganic surface portion having a closed shape continuously surrounding the display area and comprising one or more inorganic materials. The flexible encapsulation multilayer may include a lower surface comprising only one or more inorganic materials. The lower surface of flexible encapsulation multilayer may be in in direction contact with the inorganic surface portion.

    Abstract: In non-limiting example embodiments, an electroluminescent device may include a lower structure including an emission area, and an encapsulation structure located on the lower structure. The lower structure may include a window. The window may be a light transmitting region or a notch. The light transmitting region may be spaced apart from the emission area and completely or partially surrounded by the emission area in a plan view. The notch may be formed at one side of the lower structure and recessed inward in a plan view such that one side of the emission area substantially conforms to the notch.
