Abstract: A video compressing apparatus and method that may increase the compression efficiency while maintaining the quality of video on an electronic device processing multimedia data including video are provided. The apparatus includes a video compressing apparatus and method that obtain a target image from a memory or camera, generate meta data corresponding to attribute information of the obtained target image, and compress the target image based on, at least, the generated meta data.
