The developer cartridge is attachable to and detachable from a developing housing, the developing housing comprising a drive gear for transmitting a driving force to the developer cartridge. The developer cartridge includes a cartridge housing that is configured to accommodate developer; a first passage portion provided in the cartridge housing to allow a passage of a detection light for detecting an amount of the developer accommodated in the cartridge housing; an agitator provided in the cartridge housing and configured to agitate the developer by the driving force; a transmission gear configured to mesh with the drive gear to transmit the driving force to the agitator, the transmission gear meshing with the drive gear when the developer cartridge is installed in the developing housing; and a second passage portion provided in the transmission gear to allow the passage of the detection light.

摘要： A developer cartridge provided in an image-forming device has a developer side casing that includes a toner-accommodating chamber and a developing chamber; and a plate wall disposed in the developing chamber for partitioning a thickness-regulating blade from the toner-accommodating chamber. When a thickness-regulating blade scrapes excess charged toner off the developing roller, the plate wall prevents this charged toner from returning to the toner-accommodating chamber. A flexible wiper for cleaning toner detection windows is attached to an agitator for stirring toner in the toner-accommodating chamber via a fixing member. The fixing member includes a support plate and a gripping plate disposed opposite each other with a slit formed therebetween. The wiper is inserted into the slit and is fixed to the fixing member when a boss protruding from a restricting plate becomes inserted into a through-hole formed in the wiper.

摘要： A cartridge is detachably mountable in an image-forming device, the image-forming device having a power supply supplying a bias. The cartridge includes: a bias-receiving member; a casing; and a terminal member. The bias-receiving member is configured to receive a bias supplied from a power supply provided in the image-forming device. The casing is configured to accommodate the bias-receiving member. The casing has an opening formed therein. The terminal member is detachably mounted in the opening formed in the casing and exposed outside the casing via the opening to electrically connect the power supply to the bias-receiving member. The terminal member includes: a return-restricting part restricting the terminal member from returning into the casing; a projection-restricting part that restricts the terminal member from further protruding out of the casing; and a contact part that is positioned outside the casing and that is electrically connected to the power supply.

The agitator includes a rotation shaft, a support plate, a delivery agitation blade supported by the support plate and passing through a position opposing the supply opening along an inner surface of the housing by rotation of the rotation shaft, an entire width of a first end portion of the delivery agitation blade being supported by a distal end portion of the support plate, and an oblique agitation blade erected from a surface of the support plate and oblique to the rotation shaft in order to move the developer in an axial direction of the rotation shaft toward the supply opening.

The toner cartridge may include: a first frame storing a developing agent and having a first opening for passing the developing agent therethrough; a second frame relatively movable with respect to the first frame in a direction orthogonal to a direction of passage of the developing agent through the first opening, and opening/closing the first opening; and a seal member provided on either one of the first frame and the second frame for coming into contact with the other frame to prevent leakage of the developing agent from the first opening. A first edge of the seal member and an edge of the other frame, coming into contact with each other when the second frame opens/closes the first opening, intersect with each other as viewed from the direction of passage.

A drive member is configured to be driven by the driving force and to move in a moving direction when the developer cartridge is mounted in the apparatus main body. A moving portion is provided on the drive member and is configured to move together with the drive member in the moving direction. An interfering portion is disposed downstream of a predetermined detection position with respect to the moving direction, thereby interfering with the moving portion and preventing the moving portion from passing the predetermined detection position a second time. A detecting portion detects passage of the moving portion at the predetermined detection position. An information determining portion determines information on the developer cartridge based on detection results of the detecting portion.
