    摘要: Whenever an event occurs on a computing system which will accept a response from a user of the system, the system automatically determines whether or not to enable speech interaction with the system for the event response. Whenever speech interaction is enabled with the system for the event response, the system provides a notification to the user which informs the user of the event and their options for responding thereto, where these options include responding verbally. Whenever the user responds within a prescribed period of time via a voice command (VC), the system attempts to recognize the VC. Whenever the VC is successfully recognized, the system responds appropriately to the VC.

    摘要: A method and apparatus are disclosed for ATM Adaptation Layer (AAL) staggered constant bit rate cell scheduling. Cells from a plurality of virtual circuits are scheduled. Each of the virtual circuits have a transmission characteristic and each of the plurality of virtual circuits are classified into one of a plurality of stagger groups based on similar transmission characteristics. For each frame synchronization, a cell is transmitted from a given virtual circuit until a predefined cell threshold is exceeded for the stagger group containing the given virtual circuit. A Cell Delay Variation of each of the virtual circuits will not exceed a given time interval. A scheduler can be allocated for each connection or for each period.

    摘要: Disclosed is a system for authoring metadata that describe multimedia contents. A storage device loads information on a currently edited metadata document so as to describe multimedia contents, and a metadata editor visualizes the loaded metadata document according to a predetermined method, and allows a user to edit the metadata document. A multimedia access reproducer accesses the input multimedia contents to reproduce corresponding multimedia contents, and an inter-media metadata interface links the multimedia access reproducer and the metadata editor to browse contents and effectively edit information relating to a specific interval of multimedia contents. A metadata output device outputs information on the loaded metadata document according to a predefined format.
