摘要: An apparatus and method for tapping input on electronic devices are provided. An electronic device, such as a phone, a media playing device, or a personal digital assistant, detects a tap by a user on a surface of the device using one or more motion sensors. Based on the data from the motion sensors, a location upon the surface of the device is determined, and based on that location, an action is performed. Tap input may be interpreted based upon a mode of operation of the device, orientation of the device, timing of the taps, or based on user-defined criteria. An attachable tapping template is provided which can be attached to an electronic device and share information about the template with the device using a radio frequency or electrical identifier.

摘要: Systems, apparatuses and methods for determining success rates for the transfer and/or utilization of transmitted applications or other communicated services. An intermediary device specifies one or more device attributes of a target device, which are received at a server. The server determines an anticipated success rate for successfully transferring the requested content to the device and/or utilizing the content at the target device, and transfers an indication of the anticipated success rate to the intermediary device. The anticipated success rate indication is received at the intermediary device, which then determines whether the received anticipated success rate indication meets threshold criteria. If so, the intermediary device notifies the server to initiate the transfer of the content from the server to the target device if the threshold criteria is met.

摘要: A network entity is provided and includes a processor that is configured to send a first widget to a mobile terminal. The first widget is associated with a second widget, and the mobile terminal is configured to present content of the first widget in a display of the mobile terminal and in a manner including a content item related to the second widget. The processor is therefore also configured to receive, from the mobile terminal, a request for the second widget based on the presentation of content of the first widget including the content item related to the second widget. Further, the processor is configured to send the second widget to the mobile terminal in response to the request, where the mobile terminal is configured to receive the second widget and present content of the second widget in the display.

摘要: The invention provides searching, accessing, maintaining, or editing of media files using a remote control device having a display. The invention enables a user to manipulate displayed media files and other types of information stored on a server. The server may be coupled to a display device such as a television receiver and to a remote control device also having a display. A user, through the remote control device, may manipulate media files through the use of buttons displayed on the remote control device. The buttons of the remote control device may be associated with executable commands to be performed on the media files. The modified media files may be displayed on both the television receiver and the remote control device to improve a user's ability to modify the media files.

摘要: A method for receiving a signal used in a synchronous digital telecommunications system, such as the SDH or SONET system, in which pointer interpretation is performed where a receiver has three possible main states, the receiver entering from one main state to another under the control of event number counting. The main states are a normal state, a loss of pointer state and an alarm state. The events including reception of a new pointer indicating a new pointer value, wherein the number of successive new pointers is counted, and, when being in the loss of pointer state, the normal state is entered after the new pointer has been received a predetermined number of times in success. To improve the recovery rate of data transmission, the counting of the new pointers is continued upon transition from the normal state or the alarm state to the loss of pointer state irrespective of the said transition.

摘要: A user selects a data file (e.g., an image file) from an interface (e.g., a thumbnail view). Upon selecting a file from the interface, the contents of that file are presented to the user in an appropriate manner (e.g., providing an enlarged image display). The selected file is also moved to a separate folder. As the contents of additional files are presented to the user, those files are also moved to the separate folder. A new folder is created when the user returns to the interface and selects another file from that interface, or alternatively, upon instruction from the user to create a new folder. The user may then rename or otherwise modify the folder(s).
