Abstract: A dual-bearing reel includes a reel body, a cover member and a casting control mechanism. The cover member is disposed to cover the reel body from a first side plate side, and includes a cover part, a bulging part and a first boss part. The cover part is located outside a first side plate of a reel body of the dual-bearing reel in an axial direction. The bulging part bulges outward from the cover part in the axial direction. The first boss part has a shape protruding outward from the bulging part in the axial direction, and causes a spool shaft to be inserted therethrough. The casting control mechanism includes an operating member that is attached to the first boss part so as to be movable in the axial direction and protrudes at part of an outer periphery thereof from the bulging part as seen in the axial direction.

Abstract: A dual-bearing reel includes a reel unit, a handle, a spool, and a spool brake. The handle is rotatably mounted to the reel unit. The spool is in the reel unit, and rotates in conjunction with a rotation of the handle. The spool includes a bobbin trunk, a first flange, and a second flange. The first flange is on a first end of the bobbin trunk, and the second flange is on a second end of the bobbin trunk. The bobbin trunk includes a bored tubular part and a non-bored tubular part. The bored tubular part includes at least one hole, and the non-bored tubular part is integrated with the bored tubular part. The spool brake is in the reel unit, and can apply a braking force to the spool by applying a magnetic force to at least the non-bored tubular part.

Abstract: A handle is rotatably attached to a first reel body. A second reel body has a cylindrical shape, and is an interval apart from the first reel body in an axial direction. A spool is disposed between the first reel body and the second reel body. A mount includes a mount surface facing in a first direction to contact the fishing rod when the dual-bearing reel is mounted to the fishing rod. The second reel body includes an outer peripheral surface and an outer lateral surface. The outer lateral surface faces outward in the axial direction, and the outer peripheral surface of the second reel body has a width narrower towards a first directional end of the second reel body than towards a second directional end of the second reel body. The second directional end is opposite to the first direction end.

Abstract: A dual-bearing reel is provided that basically includes a reel main body, a spool, a clutch operating member and a first barrier portion. The reel main body has a first side plate and a second side plate. The second side plate is disposed at a distance from the first side plate in an axial direction. The clutch operating member is movably supported on the reel main body in a vertical direction between the first side plate and the second side plate behind the spool. The clutch operating member switches between a transmitting and disconnecting of a rotational force to the spool. The first barrier portion is provided on one of the clutch operating member and the reel main body. The first barrier portion prevents the fishing line from entering between the clutch operating member and the first side plate of the reel main body.
