摘要: A liquid crystal color display device including a liquid crystal display cell having a Fredericksz transition effect, and a driving circuit for the display cell. At least one of the opposed electrodes of the liquid crystal display cell is divided into a plurality of electrode members aligned in a row, while the driving circuit supplies driving voltages to the plurality of electrode members corresponding to sound signals, the driving voltages being supplied sequentially having different levels in the order of alignment of the plurality of electrode members. The display device further includes a circuit for lowering the AC power source voltage to bias voltage or a predetermined low voltage level, the AC power source voltage being supplied to a common electrode member formed by the other opposed electrodes of the liquid crystal display cell the power-source voltage applying a potential difference to the liquid crystal, the potential difference being equal to the difference between the driving voltages and the predetermined low voltage.

摘要: An XY matrix type liquid crystal display panel having a plurality of X electrodes aligned at a given interval in one direction, a plurality of Y electrodes alinged at a given interval in a direction normal to the one direction and a layer of liquid crystal composition disposed between the X and Y electrodes. 摘要: A trimmed resistor is provided which has no directional feature when used and is easily mounted on a printed base board. In the trimmed resistor, there are formed four external electrodes arranged at peripheral portions of a rectangular insulation base plate in a point symmetrical distribution about a center of the insulation base plate, a film-like resistance body connected with all of the external electrodes, and a protective film covering the film-like resistance body. Two electrodes among the above-mentioned four electrodes are used as resistor terminals, and a cut slit for trimming is formed in the resistance body longitudinally or as starting from a side of the electrodes serving as resistor terminals.

A magnifying lens is disposed for magnifying an image on the display area and a support assembly is provided for supporting the magnifying lens to allow a space where the ambient light enters from above a display area of said liquid crystal display panel when the magnifying lens lens is in use. This arrangement allows full utilization of the ambient light for the optical performance of the liquid crystal display panel.

摘要: A liquid crystal display device containing a fluorescent material comprises a pair of electrodes, a pair of substrates, and an element for making liquid crystal mixtures in such a molecular orientation that the fluorescent materials generate no fluorescence at a selected portion of the pair of electrodes and accordingly no fluorescence penetrates through the liquid crystal mixtures. The element comprises a liquid crystal molecule orientation layer made of a layer of surfactant or electric power sources. The liquid crystal molecule orientation is formed over the pair of electrodes to produce a homeotropic orientation of a nematic mesophase. The electric power sources are applied to the pair of electrodes to form the homeotropic orientation of the nematic mesophase in a background area of the display device opposed to a display area of it.

Although the perpendicular array of the helical axes of liquid crystal 1 is slightly disordered by a polymer network 4 with respect to the plane of a pair of ITO 2a, 2b and substrates 3a,3b, wherein since almost all light entering from the substrata 3a side is reflected backwards (substrate 3a side) by Bragg's reflection, it is possible to decrease the visual angle dependency in comparison with a prior art liquid crystal display not containing any polymer constituents, and networks 4 which have been greatly established form intensive pillars (macromolcular resin walls), thereby improving the shock resistance properties.
