    Abstract: A networking device includes a packet header protect generator, a transmitter, a receiver, a decoder and router. The transmitter transmits a data packet to the receiver. The data packet includes a data packet header. The packet header protection generator is arranged to toggle selected bits of a protected portion of the data packet header and generate a data integrity signature. The receiver receives the data packet and generates a received data integrity signature. The decoder computes a locally computed data integrity signature in response to the protected portion of the received data packet header. The locally computed data integrity signature is compared with the received data integrity signature. The router selects a portion of a routing path in response to whether a data packet forwarding destination includes a decoder arranged to compute a locally computed data integrity signature.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for multiple channel modem and preamble detection. In an example arrangement, a system includes a plurality of communication nodes coupled to one another via an over the air interface, at least one of the communication nodes including an antenna for transmitting and receiving signals on the over the air interface; a radio transceiver coupled to the antenna for receiving signals and having an output for transmitting signal samples; and a dual core processor coupled to the radio transceiver, the dual core processor comprising a first CPU and a second CPU, the first CPU configured to process signals for a first channel within the signal samples received from the radio transceiver, and the second CPU configured to process signals for a second channel within the signal samples received from the radio transceiver. Methods and additional apparatus are also disclosed.

    Abstract: Dynamic sharing of RAM in a software-defined communication system includes storing program code in a flash memory, categorizing parts of the code into groups of transmit categories according to when a part of the code needs to be copied into a section of a RAM and then executed during a first state of a TX state machine and according to how another part of the code can be later fit into the same section and then executed during a second state. Similarly, parts of the code are categorized into groups of receive categories according to when a part of the code needs to be copied into a section of RAM and then executed during a first state of a RX state machine and according to how another part of the code can be later fit into that section and then executed during a second state of the RX state machine, to reduce the amount of RAM without sacrificing speed performance.
