摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a main body storage part, a determination part, and an initial adjustment part. The first image forming unit includes a first storage part storing first information indicative of whether or not an initial adjustment of the first image forming unit has been completed. The determination part determines whether or not the first information stored in the first storage part and the second information stored in the main body storage part satisfy respective prescribed conditions. The initial adjustment part causes the first and second image forming units to perform the initial adjustment when the first information indicates that the initial adjustment of the first image forming unit has not been completed and the second information indicates that the second image forming unit corresponds to an unused state.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a recording sheet feeding member which feeds a recording sheet on a feed tray to a transporting path, an endless recording sheet transporting member having an inappropriate portion which is not suitable for use in forming an image, a transporting member which transports the recording sheet fed from the recording sheet feeding member to the recording sheet transporting member, and an inappropriate portion detector which detects an inappropriate portion on the recording sheet transporting member. A controller controls the transporting member such that the recording sheet is fed so as to avoid the inappropriate portion based on a result detected by the inappropriate portion detector.

When the frequency of the stabilization process executed automatically is small while the frequency of the stabilization process executed manually is large, the controller raises a frequency level of execution of the stabilization process. When the frequency of the stabilization process executed manually is small, the controller lowers the frequency level of execution of the stabilization process.

摘要： An image processing apparatus avoids abnormal control on loads including an optional device and enables only program transfer when transfer of a control program from an external device is not normally proceeding. Through a communication interface, the control program is transferred from the external device to a flash memory via an external controller, while a transfer state thereof is stored in EEPROM. In response to the state of the EEPROM, CPU controls power supply to the external controller and the optional device to avoid abnormal operation of the optional device during transfer of control programs.
