    摘要: Provided are an image forming apparatus and an image forming method capable of easily forming an output image having desired gradation characteristics and capable of reducing running cost. In an intermediate transfer-type image forming apparatus, an image forming section is configured by including a first image forming section which forms a color toner image on a photoconductor, and a second image forming section which is located on the upstream side of the first image forming section and forms a transparent toner image on the photoconductor. Further, after the transparent toner image is formed on an intermediate transfer member by the second image forming section, the first image forming section forms, on the basis of image data (correction gradation values) corrected by a gradation correcting section, a color toner image so that the color toner image is superimposed on the transparent toner image.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit, a storage unit, an image processing unit and a control unit. The image processing unit (i) calculates a summed height of a color toner image formed on a sheet by summing up a height of the color toner image on the basis of input image data, (ii) calculates, on the basis of a target value for glossiness stored in the storage unit, a target total height of the color toner image and a clear toner image to realize the target value for glossiness, and (iii) calculates a height of the clear toner image by subtracting the summed height from the target total height. On the basis of the calculated height of the clear toner image, the control unit adjusts the height of the clear toner image formed on the sheet.

    摘要: An image forming device capable of providing an image of excellent quality without unevenness of density. According to the image forming device, a controller measures light quantity for each light emitting element of the exposing device as to the pattern where only one of the light emitting elements is turned on, and as to the pattern where all the light emitting elements are turned on. Based on the data about the measured light quantity, a change rate in the light quantity distribution of the exposing device is calculated. Based on the data about the measured light quantity and the change rate in the light quantity distribution calculated, correction value for each of the light emitting elements of the exposing device is determined.

    摘要: In a copying machine, a printer control unit calculates .gamma. correction data according to a grid potential Vg and a development bias potential Vb which are image forming parameters, and a calculation coefficient. The printer control unit reads reflectance data of a copied test pattern in a test pattern read out mode to correct the calculation coefficient for the calculation of .gamma. correction data according to the read out data. Thus, .gamma. correction at always the optimum and accurate level can be carried out without usage of a memory of a large capacity.

A .gamma. correcting unit corrects an image signal output from an image signal processing unit using the calculated light emission characteristic data for .gamma. correction to control the light source to emit light based on the corrected data. More specifically, since the .gamma. correction data is obtained by calculation, optimal .gamma. correction can always be carried out without a memory of a large capacity.
