摘要： A system and method for encoding sound information in image sub-feature sets comprising pixels in a picture or video image. Small differences in intensity of pixels in this image set are not detectable by eyes, but are detectable by scanning devices that measure these intensity differences between closely situated pixels in the sub-feature sets. These encoded numbers are mapped into sound representations allowing for the reproduction of sound.

摘要： A method of performing biometric authentication of a person's identity including a biometric template prior to storing it in a biometric database. The encryption algorithm encrypts the biometric template using a pass-phrase, known only to the individual, to generate the cryptographic key used to store and retrieve the biometric template. When an individual wishes to access a secured resource, he must be authenticated by providing an identifier which is used to retrieve the appropriate record. He must also provide the correct password to allow the system to decrypt the model.

摘要： A computer system that attempts to establish an alternative network link upon failing to establish a requested network link is described. The computer system may encounter conditions where access to numerous networks, in particular wireless networks, is not available. Rather than only providing an error message to the user upon a failed attempt to establish the requested network link, the computer system determines whether the user has designated an alternative network link in case the requested network link cannot be established, whereas the alternative network link is selected from the plurality of network links that the computer system is configured to support. If an alternative network link has been designated, the computer system attempts to establish the alternative network link. Hence, the user experience is made smooth and uneventful when the requested network link cannot be established.
