Abstract: A remote-control unit (10) for controlling a hearing assistive device (20) by sending a control signal with instructions as an acoustic signal, has an input transducer (14), an output transducer (15), and a processor (11) adapted for setting the volume of the output from the output transducer (15). The processor (11) is adapted for activating the input transducer (14) for receiving environmental sound, analyzing the environmental sound, determining and setting the volume of the output from the output transducer (15) based on the environmental sound, and outputting the control signal at the set volume via the output transducer (15).

Abstract: A hearing system includes a hearing aid (10) and personal communication device (20) connected via a short range data communication link. The hearing aid has a signal processor (13) processing an audio signal according to audio processing parameters, a sub-system applying respective sets of processing parameters for at least two modes, a classifier component (51) statistically analyzing the environment by comparing specific characteristics of an electrical input signal to one or more thresholds. A program selector component (16) selects automatically an appropriate mode for the signal processing sub-system according to the classifier output. The personal communication device offers the user an interface for controlling and interacting with the program selector component of the hearing aid, and for generating and transmitting a notification to the hearing aid. Upon reception of the notification, the processor adjusts at least one of the one or more thresholds used by the classifier component.

Abstract: A hearing system includes a hearing aid (10) and a personal communication device (20), and both have a short range data transceiver (15, 29) for short range data communication. The hearing aid (10) has a signal processor (13) processing an electric input signal according to predefined audio processing parameters, and a signal processing sub-system with at least two modes of operation applying respective sets of audio processing parameters. A program selector component (16) has a classifier (51) analyzing the electric input signal and classifies an auditory environment of the hearing aid (10). The personal communication device (20) has an auxiliary classifier component (24) monitoring the use of the personal communication device, and generates and transmits a notification upon detection of a change of the environment. The program selector component (16) receives the notification from the auxiliary classifier component (24), and takes the notification into account when selecting one of the at least two modes of operation for the signal processing sub-system.

Abstract: A personal wearable EEG monitor (1) is adapted to be carried at the head of a person. The EEG monitor comprises an EEG sensor part having skin surface electrodes (3) for measuring EEG signals from said person. Abstract: An input transducer (11, 12) of a hearing aid (10) converts audio from the environment into an electric input signal. A signal processor (13) amplifies and conditions the electric input signal according to a preset set of audio processing parameters, and an output transducer (14) reproduces output audio. The hearing aid (10) is connected with a personal communication device (20) via a short range radio communication link (15, 29). The personal communication device (20) identifies music included in the background noise. The personal communication device (20) retrieves a music stream based on the identified music, and streams the music stream to the hearing aid (10). The signal processor (13) of the hearing aid (10) combines the input signal from the input transducer (11, 12) and music signal in order to reduce the presence of the music included in the background noise from the audio signal delivered by the output transducer (14).
