Abstract:
A hydrant for delivery of hot or cold water has first and second parallel splined fluid inlet pipes. The pipes have forward and rearward ends and are connected to sources pressurized water. A laterally extending fluid conduit member connects the forward ends of the first and second fluid inlet pipes. A fluid closure valve is located in the rearward ends of each of the first and second fluid pipes. A valve rod having forward and rearward ends rotatably extends through pipes and has one end operatively connected to closure valves. A longitudinally spring loaded handle is slideably engageable with the forward end of the valve rods to permit the manual movement of the rods to open or close the fluid closure valves. When the handle is pushed inwardly to engage splines in the rod and handle.
Abstract:
A solenoid activated bathtub drain closure is associated with the bathtub having a bottom with a drain opening therein. A vertically movable drain stopper is mounted over the drain opening. A drain pipe is connected to the drain opening and is conventionally positioned below the drain opening. A solenoid having a movable plunger is located outside the drain pipe and is preferably mounted on the drain pipe. Linkage is secured to the plunger and extends from the plunger into the drain pipe and terminates at an inner end underneath the drain opening. The linkage is so configured that when the plunger is moved by the solenoid from a first position to a second position, the inner end of the linkage will engage the stopper and raise it with respect to the drain opening to permit fluid in the bathtub to flow by gravity.

A waste water strainer has a horizontal flange having a center opening. A hollow barrel is secured to and extends downwardly from the flange and has a center opening concentrically located with respect to the center opening in the flange. A hollow strainer extension is threadably secured to a lower end of the barrel. A sleeve with an internal concave surface is slidably and removably mounted within the upper end of the strainer extension. A circular disk valve having an annular outer surface symmetrical with the concave surface of the sleeve is pivotally mounted on the concave surface of the sleeve. The sleeve is supported at the lower end of the hollow strainer and extends upwardly to engagement with a lower surface of the flange. The flange and the barrel have a chrome-like finished surface, and the strainer extension has a different finish surface.
Abstract:
A control for a waste water drain in the bottom of a bathtub which has an overflow port above the drain in the end wall of the bathtub has a vertical drain pipe having upper and lower ends. A first fluid port is located at the upper end of the vertical drain pipe and a second fluid port is located below the first fluid port for connection to a bathtub waste water drain. A valve element is slidably mounted in the vertical drain pipe adjacent the second port and is movable between a lower position to close the second port to fluid flow, and an upper position which will open the second fluid port to fluid flow. An electrical solenoid is mounted adjacent the first port. An elongated linkage connects the valve element to the plunger of the solenoid so that the movement of the plunger in one direction will raise the valve element to the upper position, and movement of the plunger in the opposite direction will lower the valve element to the lower position. The vertical drain pipe is length-adjustable.
Abstract:
An overflow system for a bathtub has an overflow port and has a drain pipe in connection with the overflow port. A flexible diaphragm is secured to and seals the port by a plate having a center opening. The diaphragm seals the overflow port when the system is being tested for leaks with pressurized fluid. Following the test, when the fluid is removed, the diaphragm is cut or slashed to open the overflow port to provide fluid flow. A cap covering the plate and the diaphragm is secured to the drain pipe and covers the plate and the diaphragm.
Abstract:
A system for interconnecting a faucet assembly to a wall member is provided that employs a mounting bracket for interconnection to the wall member. The mounting bracket is configured to accommodate various configurations of faucets with any number of fluid delivery tubes. The mounting system provides structural rigidity to the faucet/building interconnection while minimizing occupation of interior wall space.
Abstract:
An improved drain actuates system that includes a cable to actuate a head or stopper of a drain. More specifically, one end of the cable is associated with the drain without additional moving parts and another end of the cable associated with an overflow cap of an overflow system wherein rotation of the overflow cap selectively moves the cable to move the head of the drain. The internal components associated with the overflow end of the cable that allow it to actuate the drain are fully accessible through the overflow port of the plumbing system.
Abstract:
A device used to conceal at least a portion of a wastewater strainer associated with a bathtub is provided. More specifically, a plate having an opening therethrough is used to overlap a flange of the wastewater strainer wherein the opening in the plate generally coincides with an opening in the wastewater strainer so that the bathtub drain is unobstructed. The plate may include a downwardly extending lip to help facilitate orientation onto the flange of the wastewater strainer. The plate conceals the wastewater strainer, thereby facilitating reconfiguration of a bathtub as the existing wastewater strainer need not be removed and the plumbing system retested.
Abstract:
A double check valve is provided that includes an in-line inlet check valve and an outlet check valve that cooperate to prevent back flow of fluid through the valve. The check valve also includes at least one vent that allows for fluid trapped within the check valve to drain, thereby preventing freezing of the check valve and hydrant to which it is interconnected. The check valve provided omits many superfluous components and thus is smaller and easier to install than check valves of the prior art.
