摘要: An intervertebral disc replacement device comprising a superior plate and an inferior plate, in which each plate contains one or more embedded magnets. The one or more magnets in the superior plate and the one or more magnet in the inferior plate are oriented such that a magnetic force exists between the one or more magnets in the superior plate and the one or more magnet in the inferior plate. In addition, an intervertebral disc replacement device comprising a superior plate and an inferior plate, in which each plate contains one or more embedded magnets, and the plates are designed to form an articulating surface. Further, an intervertebral disc replacement device comprising a superior plate, an inferior plate, and a spacer, in which each plate contains one or more embedded magnets, and the superior and inferior plates are designed to form articulating surfaces with the spacer.

摘要: Implant devices, and method of using the same, are provided. The implant devices have a head and a stem. The head has an upper surface, a perimeter surface, and a lower surface. The upper surface is blended into the perimeter surface. The perimeter surface is blended into the lower surface. The upper surface has a general shape of at least a portion of a superior articular surface of a talus and at least a portion of a medial articular surface of a talus. The stem has a cylindrical portion, which optionally has at least one circumferential groove.

摘要: A total hip replacement prosthesis that comprises an acetabular component and a femoral component. The acetabular component has a full or partial hemispherical shape, and comprises a shell and one or more magnets. The femoral component comprises a stem portion comprising a proximal end and a distal end, a neck portion comprising a tapered end and a base end that is joined to the proximal end of the stem portion, and a spherical head that is affixed to the tapered end of the neck portion and comprises one or more magnets. The acetabular component is configured to receive all or a portion of the spherical head of the femoral component. Further, the one or more magnets of the acetabular component and the one or more magnets of the spherical head of the femoral component are oriented to generate an attractive force therebetween.
