    摘要： A method of converting a sedan body having doors with framed and sliding windows to a vehicle body having doors with unframed windows. The method is performed by cutting and removing at least a portion of the window frame and utilizing a glass window panel and seal at least one of which has a different construction than the corresponding component used with the framed door. Preferably, both a different glass window panel and a different seal are utilized.

    摘要： A tube door for off-road vehicles, including open recreational vehicles and Jeeps, is provided. It provides a ladder step for easy entry in and exit from the off-road vehicle. The tube door is hinged at its bottom portion for attaching to the bottom side of the door frame of the off-road vehicle. The tube door has a step bar, which provides a ladder step for the foot support for entry in or exit from the off-road vehicle when the tube door is in open position. The tube door has a lock system for keeping it in the closed position against the Jeep or open recreational/off-road vehicles. The tube door also provides a handle portion for holding when the tube door is in the closed position. The handle portion is the same portion that functions as the step portion when the tube door is in the open position.

    摘要： A process for forming elongated vehicle doors includes the steps of removing the sheet metal skin from the existing door, severing the door substructure into two portions and inserting appropriately sized extension sections into the door substructure. A new elongated skin is contoured to match the side of the vehicle body and is cut to the shape of the elongated door. The new skin is placed in an adjustable mold fixture and end flange portions are hammered over the mold. The adjustable mold includes two lower portions which are contoured and configured to simulate the underlying door substructure, and two upper mold portions similarly contoured and configured, which are clamped to the lower mold portions with the new skin between the upper and lower mold portions. The molds are kirksite molds made directly from components of the door, and adjusting the spacing between the mold portions permits the manufacture of skins of different lengths to go on doors of different lengths.
