摘要: A compressed air dredge for removing gravel, sand, mud or the like from the sea floor is provided of the type including a compressor which is installed on a dredging ship having a vertically-disposed feed pipe and which, via a compressed air line, blows compressed air into the bottom end of the feed pipe so as to provide the required suction force. The dredge is characterized by the provision of at least two vertically disposed feed pipes, each of which is coupled to a separate compressor and each of which is provided with a separate compressed air line. The compressed air lines are coupled together via a coupling line having shut-off means for establishing and closing-off communication between the two compressed air lines. The compressed air lines are also each provided with separate shut-off means disposed in the flow direction of the compressed air in the compressed air line, downstream of the coupling line, for establishing and closing off communication between the compressed air line and its associated feed pipe.

摘要: In a method of loading a suction dredger in which a suspension of sand andater is pumped into the hold an effluent device is intermittently passed to lower and lower levels in dependence upon the weight of the load in the hold to an extent such that the suction dredger remains loaded substantially up to its maximum permissible carrying capacity.

摘要: In a method of loading the hold of a suction dredger vessel, in which a sension of sand and water is pumped into the hold during loading which is carried out in a first stage and a subsequent second stage for avoiding that a siphon effect is not possible and that the last quantity of water cannot be replaced by a sand-water mixture, the effluent means are kept, after the suspension level in the hold has reached the external water level, under the action of a suction pump for lowering the suspension level to below the external water level.

摘要: The invention relates to a sand and gravel dredge in which, for discharge ashore, the cargo is re-slurried in the hold by high pressure oscillating water jets at the center of the hold floor, creating a turbulent region from which the re-slurried material enters a duct keel through selectively-operable valves and is pumped to dewatering screens at deck level. The dewatered material from the screens is conveyed ashore and the water passing through the screens is directed into settling tanks from where it is recirculated to the high pressure jets.

摘要: The invention concerns an apparatus for collecting solids from the bed of aiquid or for establishing an anchorage in the bed of a liquid. The apparatus comprises essentially a substantially hollow structure into which solids from the liquid bed are induced as solids in liquid suspension. In the case of the apparatus being used for the collection of solids the structure is raised to the surface of the liquid for the solids to be harvested. When the apparatus is being used as an anchoring device the design is modified such that as solids from the liquid bed are induced into the substantially hollow structure they fill or partially fill the structure when then proceeds to bury itself into the liquid bed thereby establishing an anchorage.
