Several capacitors charged by a piezo element or a surge generator during firing are used in the flight phase for operational purposes. At least two of the capacitors arc connected to the input of a comparator, so that the influence of a constantly modifiable operational voltage and the influence of a discharge of modifiable voltage levels by the piezo element or surge generator does not affect the time function.

    摘要: An input electrical pulse as from an input mechanism is rectified and converted to a direct voltage, which may be regulated in magnitude. The regulated direct voltage may be introduced to a timing circuit which produces a signal after an adjustable and pre-selected delay. This signal causes a circuit to produce a triggering signal. The circuit is biased by a capacitor charged by the direct voltage so that it produces the triggering signal only after the timing circuit has provided the pre-selected delay. The triggering signal closes a switch (e.g. makes a transistor conductive) which provides a low impedance to a firing device such as a squib. The direct voltage then activates the firing device and the firing device actuates an output mechanism. The input mechanism may be coupled to a housing at one position in the housing. When actuated, the input mechanism introduces the input pulse to the circuitry described above, such circuitry being disposed in the housing. The firing device then actuates the output mechanism, which is coupled to the housing at a second position in the housing, such second position preferably being oppositely disposed from the first position. The housing may be constructed to prevent radio frequency signals external to the housing from interfering with the operation of the circuitry in the housing.

    摘要: Each of first and second switches, preferably ganged, have first and second operative relationships. In the first operative relationship, the first switch is connected across a firing device to prevent the firing device from being energized. In the first operative relationship, the second switch is connected across an energy storage device (e.g. capacitor) to prevent the capacitor from being charged. In the second operative relationship of the second switch, the capacitor is charged by an energy supply device (e.g. battery). In the second operative relationship of the first and second switches, the capacitor is connected in a circuit with the first device and a third switch (e.g. transistor). The transistor is normally nonconductive to prevent the capacitor from discharging through the firing device with the first and second switches in the second operative relationships. When the transistor becomes conductive with the first and second switches in the second operative relationship, the capacitor discharges and fires the firing device. The transistor becomes conductive when a triggering signal is introduced to a pair of terminals. The triggering signal may be filtered by a low pass filter (e.g. inductance and capacitance) to prevent noise from passing. A device (e.g. zener diode) limits the triggering signal amplitude. The filtered triggering signal charges the capacitance in the low pass filter. The capacitor charge causes a second transistor to become conductive, thereby producing a voltage across an impedance. This voltage triggers the first transistor to the conductive state to provide for the firing of the firing device.

    摘要: An electronic delay blasting circuit (100) receives an input signal through input lines (102, 104). The input signal is passed through a rectifier (106) to produce a DC signal for storing charge on capacitors (140, 152). The capacitor (152) serves as a power supply for a digital counting circuit. The capacitor (140) serves to store electrical energy for firing an electric match ignition element (174). A plurality of switches (200, 202, 244, 246, 248, 250 and 252) are set to a reference count to determine the delay period of the circuit (100). When the input signal is terminated, counter circuits (196, 198) are initiated to count the clock output of an oscillator (208). When the sequential count from the counters (196, 198) equals the stored reference count, an SCR (176) is triggered to apply the stored electrical charge from capacitor (140) to the electric match ignition element (174). The oscillator (208) includes a crystal (214) to insure that the digital count and resulting time delay of the blasting circuit (100) are accurate and reliable.

    摘要: A digital timer fuze (DTF) in subcombination with a digital timer fuze sym. The central element in the fuze system is the aircraft fire-control computer including a fuze setter, which receives input signals from various sensors as required for rocket trajectory computations and, in addition, pilot commands. When the pilot arms the system and selects a firing mode, power is supplied to each fuze in the load. When the firing button (pickle switch) is depressed, timing commands are injected into each fuze in proper sequence and the rocket motors are initiated via circuits and initiators incorporated in the launcher pods. As each rocket moves forward under motor thrust, the lead to its fuze is separated. Physical interruption of this circuit initiates the "run" phase of the digital timer fuze.The digital timer fuze is electrically connected to the fuze setter. A signal from the fuze setter charges a power supply capacitor and causes a counter to count clock pulses for a given period of time and store the count. When the umbilical line connecting the fuze to the fuze setter is severed, the main counter counts down at a given rate. When all of the stored counts have left the counter, the counter gates an SCR which allows the power supply capacitor to actuate the detonator.

The unique design allows the device to be used directly in combination with explosives or pyrotechnics or with a variety of accessories. When used in conjunction with a blasting or training adapter, the device can be refurbished and reset by the user in the field. Furthermore, a self test feature is provided. Time delays in eleven discrete settings from 15 minutes to 72 hours are achieved through the use of a highly stable oscillator coupled to a shift register counting circuit.

    摘要: An electronic firing device of a missile, enabling precise setting of a time delay from several milliseconds up to an hour or more, comprises an energy accumulator formed by a capacitor associated with an energy receiving coil charging the capacitor from an external signal. This signal has a low frequency energy-supply component and a high frequency signal having a series of pulse trains defining a decimal number up to, for example, 10.sup.7. The high frequency signal passes via a coded selective filter supplying, to a memory, a coded value defining a time delay. An oscillator triggered by a security switch supplies clock signals which are divided to provide 1 millisecond pulses counted in a coding circuit in the same code as the memory. This coding circuit and the memory are connected to a comparator which supplies a firing signal when the count reaches the memorized value.

    摘要: An electronic time opener and opener system is utilized for initiating thepening of a plurality of munition cannisters at an accurate settable time after ejection from a high speed aircraft. Analogue circuitry is used in the opener setter to measure the capacitance of an RC circuit of the electronic time opener, immediately prior to cannister ejection. Upon the basis of this pre-ejection measurement a proper voltage charge is generated to obtain sufficient energy to actuate a detonator in the munition at the proper time. The combined opener and opener setter system permit accurate tuning while using wide tolerance capacitance components in the electronic time opener.
