Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for inspecting use a sensor for detecting taggant particles in a material after installation. The sensor is positioned adjacent a finished surface of the installed material and is connected to a control device for displaying an indication of a distribution of the taggant particles below the surface. The control device also generates a profile of the taggant particles versus a distance from the surface.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for monitoring a ratio of at least two mixed components use a sensor for detecting taggant particles in one of the components of the mixed material after installation. The sensor is positioned adjacent a surface of the installed mixture and is connected to a control device for displaying an indication of a mixture ratio of the components below the surface. The control device also generates a profile of the mixture ratio of the installed mixed material versus a distance from the surface.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for continuous flow production of mixed fluids. The mixed fluids can comprise a mixture of different fluids or a mixture of the same fluid having different input properties such as temperature. In general, two streams of fluid of varying temperature are supplied to a mixer. The flow rate of each of the input fluids can be regulated to produce a mixed fluid at a desired flow rate and temperature. As an example, mass flow controllers can regulate the flow rates of a hot and cold stream of de-ionized water to produce a stream of de-ionized water at a desired flow rate and temperature.
Abstract:
Methods for design-optimization of concrete compositions having workability optimized gradation and fixed cement paste volume are disclosed. In particular, the methods allow for designing and manufacturing of concrete compositions having target compressive strengths and slumps and having a fixed volume of cement paste based on target compressive strengths and/or target slump amounts using improved methods that more efficiently utilize all the components from a performance standpoint.
Abstract:
An automated solution maker is provided. The automated solution maker mixes a chemical with a solvent to a desired concentration. The concentration of the solution is monitored by measuring the conductivity of the solution. Based upon this measurement, the concentration of the solution may be adjusted.

Abstract:
A modular fluid supply system for use with a liquid supply source includes a plurality of container packs, a fluid delivery line in fluid communication with the containers of the packs, and a controller. Each container pack includes at least one container that contains a fluid mixture of at least two different fluid components. The fluid delivery line is configured to deliver fluid mixtures from the containers to a tool that utilizes the fluid mixtures, and the controller is configured to selectively and automatically control the flow of the fluid mixture from each container pack to the tool. The modular fluid system can be integrated with a main fluid supply system or independently implemented for continuous and reliable supply of mixed fluids to a particular application, such as off-shore pipeline welding operations.
Abstract:
A method, system, and computer program are provided for operating a valve using a cushion filter. The method, system, and computer program receive a process variable signal associated with operation of a valve. The method, system, and computer program filter the process variable signal to produce a filtered process variable signal using a cushion filter. The cushion filter implements a cushion in a bias used by the cushion filter. The method, system, and computer program generate an output signal for adjusting the valve based at least partially on the filtered process variable signal.
Abstract:
A production system for continuously producing a paint composition. The production system includes a main mixing pipe connected to storage vessels to continuously receive flows of paint components from the storage vessels. The flows of the paint components are mixed together in the main mixing pipe to form a continuous flow of a paint composition. A fluid inspection cell is connected to the main mixing pipe for continuously receiving a sample portion of the flow of the paint composition. A spectrophotometer is positioned to view the sample portion of the flow of the paint composition through a window of the fluid inspection cell. The spectrophotometer transmits measured color values to a control unit, which generates control signals in response thereto. The control signals are transmitted to colorant pumps, which pump colorants to the main mixing pipe in response to the control signals.
Abstract:
The present invention is constituted so that an actual air-fuel ratio is detected by an air-fuel ratio sensor, a plant model representing a plant between a fuel injection valve and the air-fuel ratio sensor is sequentially identified to calculate parameters of the plant model, a control gain for calculating a feedback control amount is calculated using the calculated parameters, and the feedback control amount is calculated using the calculated control gain, wherein an absolute value of an input side parameter set on an input side of the plant model is limited to be a predetermined limit value or above, among the calculated parameters.
