摘要: Described herein is a method for predicting visual texture parameters of a paint having a known paint formulation. The visual texture parameters of the paint are determined using an artificial neural network on the basis of a number of color components used in the known paint formulation. The method includes determining a value of at least one characteristic variable describing at least one optical property using a physical model for the known paint formulation. The method also includes assigning the value to the known paint formulation, and transmitting the value to the artificial neural network as an input signal for determining the visual texture parameters. The value describes the at least one optical property for at least some of the number of color components of the known paint formulation. The method further includes training the neural network using a plurality of color originals each having a respective known paint formulation.

For example, the print system includes a plurality of printheads, a curing light source, an inline failure detection (IFD) system, a movable member to hold an object, a heat resistant member coupled to the movable member that holds a thermal paper for testing operation of the curing light source and a controller to control movement of the movable member to move the object past the array of printheads, to operate the plurality of printheads to eject the marking material onto the object as the object passes the two-dimensional array of printheads, to operate the curing light source to apply energy to the thermal paper and to cure the marking material, and to operate the IFD system to read the thermal paper to detect a failure of the curing light source.

摘要: A method corrects color density unevenness during a printing operation on an inkjet printing machine having printing nozzles and a computer. The computer modifies the number or size of the drops to be applied to a printing substrate to attain nominal color density values after the processing of a rasterized print image. For different actual tone values, it is determined which target tone value is required to attain a nominal coloration by measuring a test image for every printing nozzle using a color measurement device, and, based thereon, an area coverage-dependent compensation profile is determined and saved on the computer to be applied in the printing operation to calculate the number and size of the drops on the computer.

摘要: A subwavelength gold hole/disk array that when coupled with a ground plane induces extraordinary transmission through the hole/disk array and zero back reflection. The hole/disk array functions as a “light funnel” in couling incident radiation into the cavity with about 100% efficiency over a narrow resonant bandwidth, which results in frequency-selective perfect (˜100%) absorption of the incident radiation. Such an optical frequency-selective absorber enables flexible scaling of detector response to any wavelength range by pattern dimensional changes, enabling uncooled frequency selective detection and “color” imaging in the infrared domain. Methods and applications are disclosed.
