Abstract: A device for dispensing a liquid in a carrier fluid flow comprises a container (10) for the liquid, into which a pressure flow of carrier fluid is driven. A liquid conduit (20) within the container has an outlet (22) in the path of the carrier fluid flow into the container so that liquid is taken up and is carried with the flow, through an outlet (26) from the container. The container can be formed by a disposable capsule that is replaceably inserted into the device.

Abstract: A rail support system for adjustably supporting a pair of abutting rails to be welded together. The inventive device includes a pair of support devices each comprising a support base, a first lift assembly attached to an end of the support base, a second lift assembly attached to an opposing end of the support base, a pair of locking handles attached to the support base for engaging a lower portion of the rail, and a gripping handle attached to the support base for allowing manual manipulation of the present invention by a user. The lift assemblies are comprised of a screw type jack system or a hydraulic jack system. By differentiating the lift assemblies the user is able to manually twist the rail in the desired direction to create an alignment with the opposing rail. The pair of locking handles are preferably positioned upon a slide plate that is adjustably positioned upon the support base thereby allowing the user to adjust the horizontal position of the rail also. The present invention allows repositioning of the horizontal, vertical and rotational position of a rail which is desirable when welding two abutting rails.

Abstract: A valve for dispersing a fluidic substance into a carrier fluid is disclosed. The valve is constructed from few moving parts and is particularly well adapted to distribute fluidic substances with little or no solubility in the flowing liquid into the carrier fluid. The valve is able to disperse difficult to dissolve fluids into the liquid stream by dispersing the fluidic substance into the carrier fluid at the stream's point of highest velocity and creating local turbulence at the points of dispersion. The design of the valve is such that the carrier fluid constantly flushes the valve's moving parts, and the valve is sealed from the dispersed fluidic substance to prevent jamming or clogging the moving parts by undissolved portions of the fluidic substance. The fluid pressure at which dispersal occurs and the volume of dispersal is precisely adjustable. The valve finds use in the irrigation of farmland, golf courses, athletic fields, public parks, and the yards of private homes. The valve is also used in manufacturing processes such as the petrochemical industry, chemical refining, and the food and beverage industry.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a fluid dispenser for dispensing landscape maintenance fluids or the like which contain products such as fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides. The fluid dispenser injects the fluids directly into the mainstream of an irrigation system. The dispensing system operates by shunting a portion of the main irrigation water stream through a bypass to the dispenser containing the product to be dispensed. The water dilutes the product to be applied, and is injected back into the main irrigation stream by the back pressure of the irrigation system. When the irrigation is completed, the fluid flow in the main irrigation stream is reduced or terminated and the pressure drops. After the pressure drops, the fluid ceases to be diverted to the container, and the main irrigation stream drains. The vent opens, and the atmospheric pressure and the configuration of the filled outlet channel cause a siphon action to continue drawing fluid from the container into the main irrigation stream. This siphoning of the fluid from the container continues until the container is empty.

Abstract: A sprayer head is provided for attachment to a container containing a chemical product to be diluted by a carrier stream. The sprayer head includes a hose attachment member having structure for attaching the sprayer head to a source of the carrier stream. The sprayer head also includes a cap member, including structure for attaching the sprayer head to the container and a control mechanism movably connected to the cap member for controlling fluid communication between the cap member and the container. The control mechanism can be either reciprocated or rotated so that the sprayer head can be used either to spray a low viscosity liquid product in varying dilutions or to dilute and spray a mixture of high viscosity liquid, gelatinous or powdered product and carrier stream fluid.
