    摘要: A system and method for improving linearity of data outputted from an analog-to-digital converter and reducing digitization artifacts, is provided. A noise generator is provided for generating noise and adding the noise to at least one code word that is introduced to the system, wherein the at least one code word comprises a unitary portion and a fractional portion, the noise being added to the fractional portion of the at least one code word. A storage device is also located within the system for storing the at least one code word, and a high threshold and a low threshold for each of the at least one code word. The storage device is capable of outputting the high threshold and the low threshold of the at least one code word as a result of receiving the unitary portion of the at least one code word, wherein the low threshold and the high threshold, in combination with the fractional portion, are utilized to derive linear digital data having a uniform resolution.

    摘要: A novel guide is disclosed for fixing to a cutting tool for cutting a piece of sheet material having a plurality of fiducial lines marked thereon. The guide has a set of alignment marks and a plurality of measurement scales associated with the alignment marks. Each measurement scale corresponds to at least one of the fiducial lines, such that when one of the alignment marks is aligned with a particular fiducial line, the measurement scale corresponding to the particular fiducial line indicates the distance of the blade of the cutting tool from an edge of the sheet material. Particular embodiments of the guide include a flat portion attached to the front of the cutting tool, or alternately, a laser guide rotatably fixed to the front of the cutting tool. Novel methods for cutting a predetermined distance from an edge of a piece of sheet material using the guides of the present invention is also disclosed.

    摘要: The tool for locating a center mark for embroidery on articles such as garments includes a planar body having orthogonally-related legs with respective exterior and interior edges. Index markings are provided on the legs along the linear edges. The index markings include indicia identifying a plurality of corresponding preestablished garment sizes along the linear extending edges, respectively. By aligning common selected sizes along the edges with the vertical centerline of a folded garment and a shoulder portion of the garment, respectively, the location of the embroiderer's center mark on the garment is identified at the intersection of the linear edges. The interior edges of the tool may also used to form marking lines where conventional hoop grids are not available.

    摘要: The speed and precision in positioning a moving table in the X-axis and Y-axis directions is enhanced dramatically. An X-Y stage apparatus is provided, in which a moving table is supported relative to a stationary base, with slight displacements made possible within the XY plane, and in which a component mounted and placed on the moving table can be positioned within the XY plane. The X-Y stage apparatus includes an elastic hinge that is flexible only in one or two direction among the X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis directions, and rigid in directions of the other axes. The moving table is supported relative to the stationary base with slight displacements made possible in the XY plane, using an elastic deformation of each of the elastic hinges in the flexible direction. Furthermore, the moving table can be slightly displaced within the XY plane, using an X-axis linear motor, and a Y-axis linear motor.

    摘要: An anchor system for flexible marker posts comprises an anchor that receives a post before the anchor is driven into the ground. In one version of the anchor system, a V-shaped configuration folded along two longitudinal side axes and one lower lateral axis. This version has front and rear plates, and the rear plate has and combines with two flanges to define a narrow pocket that receives the post. The post is secured in the pocket by deforming the pocket with punches. The anchor is retained in the earth by mechanical interference and friction. Additional embodiments include plates that are pre-bent into a V-shape, tabs for maintaining separation of the plates, and a one-piece anchor having a V-shaped lower portion and coplanar, horizontal, upper surfaces connected to the upper edges of the lower portion.
