摘要: A method for applying a measurement scale to a linear profile rail guide carriage surface, the guide carriage being guided on a guide rail linearly and longitudinally toward the guide rail and having a first side surface extending longitudinally, the measurement scale including at least one track extending linearly and longitudinally, including several mirror regions arranged alternately one behind the other, and marking regions, uses a pulsed laser to generate a laser beam and introduces a microstructure in a first region corresponding to at least one first side surface marking region. A sequence of light pulses is directed at the first region so that the laser beam is moved two-dimensionally relative to the first region to irradiate successively different subregions of the first region by the light pulses. Each different irradiated subregion has an overlap in, or transverse to, the longitudinal direction with at least two other irradiated subregions.

摘要: There is provided an optical encoder including an encoding medium and a substrate. The encoding medium has a relative movement with respect to the substrate in a predetermined direction. The substrate includes an index photodiode and two control photodiodes. The index photodiode is arranged between the two control photodiodes along the predetermined direction. The output signals of the two control photodiodes are for controlling ON/OFF of gain regulation on an output signal of the index photodiode so as to turn on the gain regulation within an interval during which the index photodiode does not generate an index pulse but to turn off the gain regulation within an interval during which the index photodiode generates the index pulse.

摘要: There is provided an optical encoder including a phase shifter circuit, two multiplexers, two digital circuits and four comparators. The phase shifter circuit receives signals from an amplifier and outputs multiple phase shifted signals. Each of the two multiplexers receives a half of the multiple phase shifted signals and outputs two pairs of phase shifted signals, each pair having 180 degrees phase difference, respectively to two comparators connected thereto. Each of the two digital circuits controls the corresponding multiplexer to select the two pairs of phase shifted signals from the half of the multiple phase shifted signals.

摘要: An electronic device is described. The electronic device may include a housing, a rotatable crown, and a self-mixing interferometry (SMI) sensor positioned within the housing. The rotatable crown may include an array of retroreflective surface features that reflect incident light back to a light source. Each retroreflective surface feature of the array of retroreflective surface features may be formed as a corner-cube with three perpendicular faces. The SMI sensor or associated processing electronics may compare originally emitted light with reflected light to identify a movement or distance of the rotatable crown with respect to the SMI sensor.

The optical encoders include an encoder disk having a patterned signal track comprising a plurality of optically detectable elements disposed on a periphery of the encoder disk, wherein each optically detectable element is associated with a bit in a binary sequence, wherein each bit has a predefined bit depth, a boundary dividing the patterned signal track into at least two sub-regions, wherein each sub-region comprises a subset of the optically detectable elements, at least one sensor arranged to detect an optical signal associated with at least one optically detectable element, and a controller in communication with the at least one sensor, the controller configured to determine an angular position of the encoder disk, wherein the controller determines the angular position based on a detected binary sequence, a detected sub-region, and a look-up-table.

摘要: An optical position-measuring device for sensing a position of two relatively movable objects includes a scale connected to one object and having a measuring graduation. A scanning unit is disposed on the other object and has optical elements. An arrangement and design of the optical elements of the scanning unit results in a scanning beam path in which split and subsequently interfered sub-beams propagate mirror-symmetrically with respect to a plane of symmetry and either impinge on and/or are reflected back from the scale in a V-shape. The plane of symmetry is tilted by a defined tilt angle relative to the scale about an axis of rotation that is oriented parallel to a surface of the scale and extends perpendicular to the graduation direction. The sub-beams that are interfered are deflected at the measuring graduation into symmetric diffraction orders. The sub-beams travel identical optical path lengths between splitting and recombination.
