Abstract: A heavy equipment cockpit training apparatus, device, system, and method is disclosed. The disclosed features include at least one substantially clear, substantially seamless pane to at least partially present an approximation of physical portions of the cockpit, at least one projector capable of backprojecting a simulation of the cockpit onto the at least one substantially seamless pane, at least one tactile aspect, discrete from the at least one seamless pane, interactively provided in association with the simulation, and at least one processor having communicatively associated therewith non-transitory computing code for at least partially providing the simulation and the interaction with the at least one tactile aspect.

An image pickup apparatus according to an embodiment includes a base section, a beam splitter, and an image pickup section. The base is configured to detachably attach to an optical measurement apparatus including an optical projection system configured to project an image of a subject on a screen. The beam splitter is disposed on an optical axis of the optical projection system upon attachment of the base to the optical measurement apparatus. The image pickup circuitry includes an image pickup device configured to receive light generated through splitting at the beam splitter and is configured to take an image of the subject upon attachment of the base.

Abstract: This disclosure describes a head-mounted display with a display assembly configured to display content to most or all of a user's field of view. The display assembly can be configured to display content in far-peripheral regions of the user's field of view differently than content upon which a user can focus. For example, spatial resolution, color resolution, refresh rate and intensity (i.e. brightness) can be adjusted to save resources and/or to bring attention to virtual content positioned within a far-peripheral region. In some embodiments, these changes can save processing resources without detracting from the user's overall experience.

Abstract: According to an embodiment, a projection device includes: a light source; an optical scanning unit that includes a base unit, a driver fixed to the base unit, and a reflective unit supported by the driver and that drives the reflective unit to scan light from the light source; and a scanned unit configured to be scanned with the light from the optical scanning unit so that a projection image is formed on the scanned unit. The projection device further includes an attachment unit for attaching the projection device to a setting unit of a setting object on which the projection device is set. The attachment unit attaches the projection device to the setting unit such that a direction in which vibration caused by the setting object is equal to or smaller than a predetermined value and a reflective surface of the reflective unit are approximately perpendicular to each other.

Abstract: A touch screen display includes a diffuser screen, a projector, a camera, an infrared (IR) light source, and a controller. The diffuser screen has a front surface and a rear surface. The projector is disposed to project images onto the rear surface of said diffuser screen, and the images are visible to a user through the diffuser screen. The camera is disposed behind the diffuser screen and aimed to capture images of a pointer near the front surface of the diffuser screen. The IR light source is disposed to direct IR light toward the rear surface of the diffuser screen, so the rays of incident IR light form an acute angle with respect to the rear surface of the diffuser screen, and so that any of the incident IR light reflected off the rear surface of the diffuser screen does not enter the camera.

Abstract: A method for the recognition and visual display of system uncertainty in the representation of augmented image contents in heads-up displays which provides that AR image contents are adapted through a change of representation so that the inaccuracies of representation that are present are not perceived as errors by the observer. A characteristic value is determined that quantifies the system uncertainty in the representation of the AR image contents. An adaptation of the representation takes place on the heads-up display depending on this characteristic value. Also disclosed is a device by which the method is carried out.
