摘要： A mechanism for so transporting an insole (118) rearwardly between a pair of molds (122,124) that regardless of the length of the insole the ball portion of the insole is in registry with the ball portions of the molds. This is accomplished by a mechanism that moves gauges (36,54) at different speeds against opposite ends of the insole to locate the insole on a support (52,58) and then transports the insole on the support a prescribed distance rearwardly between the molds. This invention provides the improvement of an adjusting arrangement for adjusting the ratios of the speeds at which the gauges are moved against the opposite ends of the insole.

摘要： In tack seat lasting machines, operator skill is often required because of irregularities in last manufacture, especially in drilling the last pin hole. Thus, automatic presentation is difficult. In accordance with the invention the last pin (32') is mounted for limited rocking movement about an axis extending lengthwise of the shoe bottom, and shoe centralizing means (424) engages edges of the shoe, at opposite sides of the last pin, to ensure alignment with a longitudinal center line of the machine. The centralized shoe is then clamped by a holddown (406), the centralizing means released, and the shoe heel end clamped by a heel band (520) which, by equalized pressure being applied to both "legs" thereof, holds, the shoe in position as presented.

摘要： There are provided thermoplastic or through the action of solvent shapable, shoe stiffening and likewise non-slip inner material for the heel region in the form of continuous sheets or blanks consisting of an embedded fiber structure which is loaded or filled with at least one synthetic resin acting as a stiffening agent at normal temperature up to about 60.degree. 摘要： A method and apparatus for forming a shoe stiffener directly on a selected surface of a shoe assembly (such as a shoe shank on the bottom of an insole) from a strip of initially flexible, uncured thermosetting material encased in a sleeve. The apparatus supports a shoe assembly, bottom up, to expose the insole bottom to a radiant heater. Means are provided for automatically locating a strip of the shank material on the insole bottom and for raising the shoe assembly, together with the insole strip, into engagement with a means for urging the shank strip against and into conformity with the contour of the insole bottom. A radiant heater then is operated to activate the shank strip. The ball and heel ends of the shank strip are pressed firmly toward the insole by heat absorbing presser pads which cause the ends of the shank strip to be tapered and to promote secure bonding of the ends of the shank strip to the insole bottom.

摘要： A shoe having the appearance, but not the construction, of a compo cement shoe has an upper, an inner sole stitched to the lower peripheral portion of the upper, and an outer sole attached to the underside of the upper and inner sole.In the method for manufacturing such shoes the pieces of the upper are first sewn together, the toe portion of the upper is crimped, gathered, and stitched and the inner sole is then positioned coplanar with the lower peripheral portion of the upper in the area circumscribed by the lower peripheral edge of the upper and sewn thereto.
