    摘要: A center or non-center cutting end mill for orbital drilling of fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) materials includes a shank, a neck, a cutting head and two or more flutes. The end mill has a tool geometry with the following features: a dish angle between about 2 degrees to about 6 degrees; a helix angle between about 5 degrees to about 18 degrees; an end teeth radial rake angle between about 0 degrees and about 15 degrees; a peripheral teeth radial rake angle between about 8 degrees and about 16 degrees; a gashing axial rake angle between about 3 degrees to about 10 degrees; and a primary clearance angle between about 10 degrees to about 18 degrees. The end mill is made from a tungsten carbide substrate with cemented cobalt in a range between about 3 to 10 wt. % and a diamond coating having a thickness in a range between about 8 to 20 μm.

    摘要: While the roll being machined is in a rotary feed movement, and its groove arcuate central portion is machined by a tool rotated around a fixed geometrical center of the arc defining the central portion and subsequently receiving a radial feed, the bevel flanks conjugate with the profile central portion are machined alternatively by a shank cutter which is rotated in the groove radial section plane and simultaneously moved in the radial direction until the bevel flank being machined conjugates with the arc of the groove central portion. For this purpose, a slide housing the revolving table operatively associated with the roll drive and carrying guideways with a cutter head and a cutter mounted therein is arranged on the bed at its one side with respect to the means the for accommodation of the roll being machined, and a post having vertical guideways with a means for clamping the tool holder mounted therein is arranged at the other opposite side of the bed.

    摘要: A tool holding and working piece-clamping assembly has a stand, a driving device, a threaded rod, a rail assembly, a brake post, a working piece-clamping device and a tool holding device. The working piece-clamping device has an upper clamping device slidably connected to the rail assembly and a lower clamping device corresponding to the upper clamping. The working piece-clamping device has a brake electrically connected to a contact switch and slidably mounted on a brake post. The tool holding device is slidably connected to the rail assembly and has a connecting base screwed with the threaded rod. With such an arrangement, only one threaded rod with a driving device is needed to actuate the tool holding device and the working piece-clamping device to operate. Consequently, the consumption of power can be reduced.

    摘要: A center cutting or plunging end mill or ball nose end mill has one or more spiral grooves and flutes in the walls of a mill body of cemented tungsten carbide. Each groove includes polycrystalline diamond or cubic boron nitride formed in situ along a leading edge of each flute. Such a groove extends across the cutting end of the mill so that the mill can be used for center cutting or plunging. The vein of diamond-like material may extend to the center of the mill body or may extend almost all of the way to the center, leaving an area of tungsten carbide exposed at the center of the mill body. A high temperature-high pressure press is used for forming the polycrystalline diamond-like veins in situ within the grooves in the mill.
