Abstract:
A method of performing an inter-RAT measurement for a handover from NB-TDD to GSM is provided. A UE, as it moves from an NB-TDD Node B to a GSM cell, receives a measurement control message from the NB-TDD Node B. The UE then measures the strength of a signal received from the GSM cell and verifies its identification for a predetermined measuring time. If the UE successfully verifies the identification of the GSM cell for the measuring time, it reports the signal strength measurement and the verified GSM cell identification to the NB-TDD Node B. If the UE fails to verify the identification of the GSM cell for the measuring time, it reports only the signal strength measurement to the NB-TDD Node B.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a system and method for transmitting/receiving an encrypted Electronic Service Guide (ESG) in a mobile Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld (DVB-H) Convergence of Broadcast and Mobile Service (CBMS) system. When a terminal performs roaming from a home network to a visited network, the terminal receives an ESG from a neighboring network and determines whether to perform user roaming or to perform service roaming according to the received ESG. In this case, the visited network provides the terminal either with an encrypted ESG and a key for the encrypted ESG, or with non-encrypted ESG through a dedicated channel, so that it is possible to provide the ESG only to specified terminals.
Abstract:
There is provided a method for allocating channel numbers to channel signals by a Node B, which repeatedly transmits a stream of n channel signals to a UE (User Equipment), each of the channel signals including a channel number and transmission data, the n channel signals having (n+1) different channel numbers, each channel having a given transmission time interval (TTI). The method comprises storing channel numbers of the n channel signals in a transmission window, and updating channel numbers such that n channel numbers are stored each time channel signals are transmitted; and allocating the same channel number as a channel number used for initial transmission to a channel signal to be transmitted if the channel signal to be transmitted is a retransmission channel signal, and allocating a channel number not belonging to the transmission window among the (n+1) channel numbers to a channel signal to be transmitted if the channel signal to be transmitted is an initial-transmission channel signal.
Abstract:
A method and system is provided for sharing a service guide or a service guide fragment in a mobile broadcast system supporting a mobile broadcast service. A Broadcast Service Provisioning Client Function (BSP-C) sends a request for the service guide or service guide fragment to a Broadcast Service Provisioning Management Function (BSP-M). The BSP-M transmits the service guide or service guide fragment to the BSP-C if the BSP-M has the service guide or service guide fragment.
Abstract:
An apparatus for reporting downlink channel quality in a high-speed packet communication system. A channel analyzer measures downlink channel quality from a received reference channel signal. A controller determines whether a current TTI (Transmission Time Interval) is a TTI corresponding to a multiple of a first TTI or a TTI corresponding to a multiple of a second TTI. If the current TTI is a TTI corresponding to a multiple of the first TTI, the controller determines CQ (Channel Quality) refreshment information for a downlink channel received from the Node B based on the measured downlink channel quality, and if the current TTI is a TTI corresponding to a multiple of the second TTI, the controller determines CQ refinement information for the downlink channel based on the measured downlink channel quality. A CQ information transmitter generates CQ refreshment information or CQ refinement information under the control of the controller, and transmits the generated CQ refreshment information or CQ refinement information over an uplink.
Abstract:
A system and method for transmitting/receiving encryption information in a mobile broadcast system supporting broadcast service (BCAST) are provided. In the mobile broadcast system, a BCAST Subscription Management (BSM) manages subscriber information of a terminal, and transmits to a BCAST Service Distribution/Adaptation (BSD/A) a first delivery message including a Registration Key Material (RKM) provided for registration of the broadcast service of the terminal and including at least one service or content's identifier. The BSD/A transmits to the BSM a first delivery confirmation message including information indicating success/fail in receipt of the first delivery message, and transmits the RKM to the terminal.
Abstract:
A terminal apparatus is provided for receiving a broadcast service from a broadcasting system. A receiver receives a notification message from the broadcasting system. A message parser parses the notification message received by the receiver according to a certain format. A controller determines whether the received notification message is a notification message to be used by a user or a notification message to be used by the terminal based on content of the notification message parsed by the message parser, and performs an operation according to the determination result.
Abstract:
A method of transmitting and receiving information about successive orthogonal codes assigned to user data for spreading on a control channel before transmission of the user data on a plurality of code channels in an HSDPA (High Speed Data Packet Access) communication system. A Node B determines an offset between a starting orthogonal code among the assigned orthogonal codes and the first of a plurality of successive orthogonal codes available to the HSDPA communication system, determines the number of the assigned orthogonal codes counted from the starting orthogonal code being the number of the code channels, forms orthogonal code information indicating the offset and the number of the orthogonal codes, and transmits the orthogonal code information to a UE.
Abstract:
A method of managing radio resources and a Node B implementing the same are provided. If the total radio resources used in a cell exceed target radio resources signaled by an RNC, uplink rates are equally allocated to primary UEs and non-primary UEs by controlling the signal strengths of the primary and non-primary UEs.
Abstract:
A method of informing a selected CN operator from a UE to a RAN in an NS system where a plurality of CN operators shares the RAN is provided. Upon request of transmission of an IDT, the UE acquires a CN operator ID selected from a multi-ID list broadcasted from a cell in which an RRC connection has been established, and transmits an IDT message with the selected CN operator ID to the RAN. Upon receipt of the IDT message, the RAN determines whether the IDT message includes a selected CN operator ID. In the presence of the selected CN operator ID, the RAN stores the selected CN operator ID in a UE context. In the absence of the selected CN operator ID, the RAN reads a stored selected CN operator ID from the UE context. The RAN then selects a CN operator using the selected CN operator ID.
