    Abstract: A surface cleaning apparatus is operable in a surface cleaning mode and an evacuation mode. A valve assembly is operable to adjust the air flow between a surface cleaning mode air flow path and an evacuation air flow path. The surface cleaning apparatus is operable in a surface cleaning mode wherein air travels from a dirty air inlet, through a downstream port to a clean air outlet and, when the surface cleaning apparatus is docked at a docking station, the surface cleaning apparatus is also operable in an evacuation mode wherein air enters through an ambient air inlet port, travels through the docking station and subsequently enters the surface cleaning apparatus through a docking station return air inlet port.

    Abstract: A surface cleaning apparatus has a surface cleaning head and an upper portion moveably mounted to the surface cleaning head between a storage position and a floor cleaning position, the upper portion comprising a drive handle. A portable cleaning unit is removably mounted to the surface cleaning head. The portable cleaning unit has air treatment member assembly having first and second opposed openable doors. The treatment member assembly has an air treatment chamber that is removably mounted to the portable cleaning unit. The surface cleaning apparatus is operable in a floor cleaning mode in which the portable cleaning unit is provided as part of the surface cleaning head. The portable cleaning unit is also useable in an above floor cleaning mode in which the portable cleaning unit is removed from the surface cleaning head.

    Abstract: A surface cleaning apparatus including an air treatment unit, a refuse unit, and a flexible hose. The air treatment unit includes an air flow path from a dirty air inlet to a clean air outlet and an air treatment member comprising an air treatment chamber and a dirt collection region having an emptying door which is operable between a closed position and an open position. The flexible hose is removably connectable to the dirty air inlet. The air treatment unit is operable in a first operating mode in which the air treatment member is in air flow communication with the dirty air inlet and the emptying door is closed. The air treatment unit is operable in a second operating mode in which air flow through the air treatment member is terminated and the emptying door is open whereby dirt is transferable to a refuse container of the refuse unit.

    Abstract: A surface cleaning apparatus having an upright section moveable relative to a surface cleaning head between a storage position and a rearwardly reclined floor cleaning position. The upright section comprising a removable hand vacuum cleaner.
