Abstract:
A bottle cap for universal retrofitting to one of a number of pre-existing beverage containers containing a beverage and having a removed cap and threaded aperture, having at least one container portion for containing at least one dispensable material, a threaded portion for receiving the threaded aperture and creating, when threaded, a watertight assembly; and bag containing the dispensable material and located in the container portion. Upon screwable attachment of the threaded aperture into the cap, the threaded aperture parses at least a portion of the bag to permit feeding of the material into the beverage. A plurality of such caps are also shown packaged for commercial sale. The material contained in the cap is selected from the group consisting of vitamins, medicaments, teas, flavors, concentrates and water-soluble food material. Also shown is a universal cap further having a moveable aperture assembly creating an open, fluid-flowing state and a closed, fluid-stopped state, having a top portion containing a drinking aperture and an elongated, moveable fluid-flowing portion.
Abstract:
A phonics training system provides immediate, audible and virtual answers to questions regarding various images such as objects, animals and people, posed by a child when the child views such images on a video display terminal of the system. The system provides virtual answers to questions without the need for an instruction or teacher and includes a computer having a video output terminal and an electronic library containing common answers to basic questions.
Abstract:
A bottle cap for universal retrofitting to one of a number of pre-existing beverage containers containing a beverage and having a removed cap and threaded aperture, having at least one container portion for containing at least one dispensable material, a screwable attachment portion for receiving the threaded aperture and creating, when threaded, a water-tight assembly; and a parseable membrane substantially planarly located within the plane defined by a cross-section of the screwable attachment portion, such that on said membrane's one surface containment for said container portion is provided, and on its other surface an air barrier to the contained material is provided. Upon screwable attachment of the threaded aperture into the screwable attachment means, the threaded aperture parses at least a portion of the parseable membrane to permit feeding of the material into the beverage.
Abstract:
This invention provides a game plan that is implemented prior to or in a sporting event to create parity between two mismatched teams in a given competition. A preferred game plan includes a series of counter-measures or tactics so that the burdened team is still free to use its personnel within the established or traditional structure of the game. In one or more alternative embodiments of this invention, parity can be created by alteration in the basic structure or play of the game, for example, creating a hybrid game of an unequal number of players, and scoring rules biased in favor of the inferior team.
Abstract:
A compressible figure form which includes an air permeable skin and a compressible resilient foam core, wherein the compressible resilient foam core includes resilient mechanical means within a cavity within said core. The resilient mechanical means is comprised of a material or configuration of material which is both more resistant to compression than the foam core and more resilient to expansion than the foam core. Thus, the compressible figure can be readily compacted by compression thereof into a compact form. Unlike traditional compressible figure forms, the release of the compressive forces thereon results in a rapid and unexpected expansion of the mechanical means within the figure, and thereby the full extension of the figure form. The combined effect of the expansion of the resilient foam body and the mechanical means within the figure causes increased animation (action) in the deployment/expansion of the figure form in comparison to the prior art, and effectively transforms what has traditionally been regarded as a relatively passive process into a dynamic recoil from the compressed to the fully expanded figure form.
Abstract:
A fragrance dispensing device suitable for incorporation into a plush figure. In one of the preferred embodiments of this invention, the fragrance dispensing device comprises a hollow body in the form of a sphere or a ball having a slit valve or a one-way valve disposed within the wall of the hollow body. A scented cartridge is inserted into the hollow body through the valve or some other resealable opening in the hollow body. In the preferred embodiments of this invention, the fragrance dispensing device is encompassed within an appendage or the head of a stuffed animal figure. Once the hollow is charged with the fragrance cartridge, it can be compressed so as to force a discrete charge of scented air from within the hollow body, into its surrounding core material which make the filler of the stuffed animal figure. The amount of fragrance dispensed from within the hollow body is based, in part, upon the volume of the hollow body and the partial pressure of the fragrance within the cartridge. Thus, if the fragrance is highly volatile, more fragrance will be present in the discrete charge emitted from the hollow body. Where additional scent is desired, the hollow body can be repeatedly compressed to discharge additional discrete charges of fragrance into the environment.
Abstract:
A figurative flying disc toy constituted by an inverted plastic dish having a convex annular rim and soft appendages attached thereto to impart to the toy the form of a humanoid figure. Each appendage is composed of a fabric pouch stuffed with compressible material, the pouch being shaped and printed to simulate in one appendage the head of the figure and in the other appendages, the arms and legs thereof. The appendages can also be hinged to the flying disc toy or be attached to a stretchable fabric cover which fits over the flying disc. To launch the toy, a player grasps one of the appendages which then serves as a handle, and with a flick of the wrist to cause the disc to whirl, the disc is hurled into the air and let fly. The centrifugal forces produced in the flight by the whirling disc causes the hinged appendages to extend outwardly to stabilize the flight.
Abstract:
A ride-on vehicle for a pre-school child in the form of a four-legged animal-like figure on wheels propelled by the feet of a child astride the figure. The figure which is mounted on a platform supported on a pair of front wheels and a pair of rear wheels is composed of a collapsible fabric casing shaped to define the animal-like form and at least one bladder within the casing which when inflated, then erects the figure. The fabric forelegs of the figure extend over the sides of the front wheels and the fabric rear legs of the figure extend over the sides of the rear wheels whereby the wheels are concealed and the child astride the figure appears to be riding the figure, not the platform.
Abstract:
An aroma-generating greeting card in a folder format having a front panel that folds over a rear panel. Printed on the front panel is a greeting appropriate to a given occasion, such as a holiday. Printed on the rear panel is a message related to the greeting. Mounted behind a port formed in the rear panel and blocking this port is a gas-barrier bag housing plastic beads impregnated with a fragrance whose aroma is associated with the occasion. The aroma is dischargeable through a vent in the bag lying within the confines of the port. The port is normally covered by a removable sticker which seals the vent to prevent discharge of the aroma. When a recipient receives the card and unfolds it to read the message and then peels off the sticker, the aroma is then discharged so that it can be sensed by the recipient.
Abstract:
A toy missile which when let fly by a player and then caught by a catcher, produces upon impact sounds appropriate to the nature of the missile. When in the configuration of a humanoid figure, the missile includes a torso defined by a fabric casing stuffed with a soft filler. Embedded in the stuffing of the torso is a sound-producing unit powered by a battery through an impact-sensitive switch whereby when the missile is caught, on impact the switch then turns the unit on to generate sounds which are appropriate to the figure. Hinged to the torso of the figure and extending therefrom are fabric arm and leg appendages. When the player grasps one of these appendages and whirls the missile to let it fly, the torso of the figure then rotates in the course of flight, causing the appendages to stretch out from the torso to stabilize the flight.
