Abstract: Sharing video footage recorded by audio/video (A/V) recording and communication devices, such as video doorbells and security cameras. When an A/V recording and communication device records video footage of suspicious activity, or even criminal activity, a user viewing the footage may alert his or her neighbors by sharing the video. In various embodiments, the user may share the video with anyone of the user's choosing, including neighbors, friends, and family.

Abstract: An audio/video (A/V) device may include or accommodate a viewer through a barrier. For example, an A/V device may include a first component for installation on an exterior surface of a door, a second component for installation on an interior surface of the door, a viewer that extends through an opening in the door, and a flexible connector that electrically couples the first component and the second component. The A/V device may enable use of an existing hole in the door as part of a door viewer, while also providing the functionality of an A/V device. For example, the A/V device may be configured to receive an input using a button on the first component, generate image data using a camera on the first component, and send the image data to a network device.

Abstract: A method includes receiving, by a processor of an audio/video recording and communication device (A/V device), an input in response to a press or a touch of a button of the A/V device. The method further includes determining, by the processor based on the input, that the button was pressed or touched for a threshold period of time. Upon determining that the button was pressed or touched for the threshold period of time, the method further includes activating, by the processor, a command input mode. During the command input mode the processor analyzes visual data captured by a camera of the A/V device. The method further includes determining, by the processor based on the visual data, a command input entered during the command input mode. The method further includes executing, by the processor, an action based on the command input.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed to identify a previously-not-present stationary object within a sequence of image frames. A system determines a first frame of the plurality of image frames where an object is not within a field of view of the camera of the A/V device. The system then analyzes other frames to determine that the object becomes present and is stationary within the field of view of the camera. The system may identify a person approaching and moving away from the A/V device. The system may identify a stationary vehicle within and subsequently not within the field of view of the camera. The system may use identification of the parcel to generate a control signal that changes the operational mode of the A/V device to parcel protect mode.

Abstract: An audio/video (A/V) recording and communication doorbell, including a camera, a speaker, a microphone, a power manager, a battery, an AC/DC rectifier, and a DC/DC converter. The doorbell is configured for connection to an external AC power source through the AC/DC rectifier and the DC/DC converter. The power manager is configured to draw power, up to a threshold power, from the AC power source and to draw supplemental power from the battery such that the power drawn from the AC power source never exceeds the threshold power. The present A/V recording and communication doorbell can thus be connected to an existing household AC power supply and an existing doorbell signaling device without causing inadvertent sounding of the signaling device.
