Abstract:
A method of handling cell selection for a mobile device in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method includes when the mobile device has a radio resource control (RRC) connection with a cell and receives access barring information corresponding to a barred state of another cell, ignoring the access barring information.
Abstract:
A method of handling at least a call in handover in a wireless communication system and a communication device using the same are proposed. The wireless communication system includes at least a wireless communication network and a wireless communication device. The method includes the following steps. First, a wireless communication device receives a message for switching at least a packet-switched (PS) call to at least a circuit-switched (CS) call from the wireless communication network. Further, the wireless communication device sets a stream identifier of each of the CS calls to an identifier value. The method enables smooth single radio voice call continuity (SRVCC) handover from the PS call in one wireless communication network to the CS call in another wireless communication network. In addition, the method also enables SRVCC multicall handover from the PS call in one network operation mode to the CS call in another wireless communication network.
Abstract:
A method of handling location service for a mobile device compatible with a plurality of radio access technologies (RATs) in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method comprises utilizing a first RAT of the plurality of RATs to communicate with a network of the wireless communication system, receiving a first message including positioning support information of the network from the network, and determining whether to initiate a location service in the first RAT or in a second RAT of the plurality of RATs according to the positioning support information.
Abstract:
A method and system controls timing of network performance information logging of a cellular network by configuring a mobile device to automatically collect data about physical characteristics of the cellular network and log that data. The mobile device initially receives network performance information logging configuration from its registered cellular network. Based on the configuration, the mobile device configures itself to collect and log the network performance information relating to physical characteristics of the cellular network. While in idle mode, the mobile device collects and logs the information. A logging duration timer corresponds to a specified time duration over which the mobile device logs network performance information. If the mobile device starts the logging duration timer at the time of configuration, it maintains the timer even after the transition to idle mode. The mobile device may also start the logging duration timer after it transitions to idle mode.
Abstract:
A mobile communication device and an associated method for MDT log reporting are provided. The method can be used in the mobile communication device which communicates with a service network through a first signaling radio bearer and a second signaling radio bearer. The method first receives a request message on the first signaling radio bearer from the service network, and then determines whether the request message requests for an MDT log. At last, the method transmits a response message containing the MDT log on the second signaling radio bearer to the service network when the request message requests for the MDT log.
Abstract:
A method of handling security configuration for a mobile device using a mapped security context in a wireless communication system includes utilizing the mapped security context to derive ciphering and integrity keys when security configuration, indicating a key update based on a cached security context, is received.
Abstract:
A mobile communications device with a wireless module and a controller module is provided. The wireless module performs wireless transmissions and receptions to and from a cellular station. The controller module receives a detachment request message comprising a detachment cause from the cellular station via the wireless module, and determines whether the detachment cause indicates unauthorized membership of a closed subscriber group (CSG) supported by the cellular station. Also, the controller module determines whether the cellular station is a non-CSG cell in response to the detachment cause indicating unauthorized membership of the CSG supported by the cellular station, and keeps an allowed CSG list unmodified in response to the cellular station being a non-CSG cell.
Abstract:
A method of handling measurement for a mobile device capable of communicating with a network through a maximum number of component carriers in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method comprises receiving data with the maximum number of component carriers, receiving a command for deactivating one of the maximum number of component carriers, from the network, deactivating the component carrier indicated by the command, and performing an inter-frequency measurement without any measurement gap.
Abstract:
A method of managing multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) reception for a communication device in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method comprises the step of using a dedicated-type resource allocation to decode data of a MBMS subframe when a MBMS resource allocation and the dedicated-type resource allocation are received. The dedicated-type resource allocation is dedicated to the communication device and used for the MBMS subframe.
Abstract:
A method of controlling channel access for a mobile device in a wireless communication system includes receiving a dynamic persistence level from a base station, determining a persistence value according to the dynamic persistence level and at least a one persistence coefficient stored in the mobile device, comparing the persistence value with a random number of the mobile device, and determining whether access to a channel is permitted to be accessed for sending a message from the mobile device to the base station according to a comparison result of the persistence value and with the random number.
