Abstract:
A storage container having a unique hinge arrangement is provided. The container includes a cover and base portion having hinge portions extending therefrom. The hinge portions are molded from a die configuration that creates adjacent cavities formed vertically and laterally. The hinge portions are arranged such that the cover and base interfit to reveal a continuous passage. A pin is inserted through the continuous passage completing a workable hinge. The storage container includes internal lateral wall sections on the cover and base having tabs extending therefrom. The tabs are configured to accept removable spacers. The spacers include side walls that are contoured such that an object may be easily removed without becoming caught in an angled corner. Transparent lids are releasably latched to the inside of the cover and base. The latches for the lids are located in a position that requires each lid to be locked prior to closing the case.
Abstract:
A sealed package for housing an electrical component. The package includes at least two package portions. Determining elements within the sealed package determine at least one parameter including at least one ambient condition within the package and/or an electrical function parameter of the component. An indicator is operatively connected to the determining elements to indicate the functionality of the component within the sealed package.
Abstract:
A tool pack comprises a board including an annular toothed portion and a rotary member. An end face of an end of the rotary member has an annular toothed portion. The end of the rotary member is engaged with the board to allow rotation of the rotary member relative to the board with the annular toothed portion of the rotary member meshing with the annular toothed portion of the board. A second end of the rotary member may be engaged with an end of a tool to rotate therewith. When the rotary member is turned, the annular toothed portion of the rotary member moves across the annular toothed portion of the board to generate clicks.
Abstract:
An interactive packaging system is disclosed which is particularly suited for a door handleset and provides a potential purchaser with direct visual and tactile access to the product without the need of opening the packaging. Additionally, the packaging system includes a base which provides an increased footprint to stably support the packaging system in an upright position.
Abstract:
A system for matching a replacement part coupling interface with the coupling interface of a spent part. The matching feature reduces the likelihood of an incorrect selection of a replacement part. The matching system can be used to properly select a battery pack for cordless telephone handsets by making it possible to physically check the compatibility of the plug without the need to open or remove the product from its packaging.
Abstract:
A new and useful package and method capable of and for applying the package to an electronic device having a base and a display member pivotally connected to the base. The package includes a first panel overlying the working surface of the electronic device which encases at least a portion of the base of the electronic device, and an opposed second panel underlying the said electronic device which also encases at least a portion of the base of the electronic device. Moreover, a first aperture is disposed on the first panel near the display and dimensioned to allow the display to pivot relative to the base. A second aperture is also formed or cut on the first panel near the on and off buttons and dimensioned to allow the electronic device to be turned on and off without opening the package. The display may be manipulated without opening the package and while the electronic device remains secured within the packaging. Therefore, this invention eliminates the need for sellers of electronic devices with pivotal displays to provide unpackaged electronic devices as floor samples while still allowing prospective customers to manipulate and test the pivotal display of the electronic device within the package.
Abstract:
A display package for point-of-purchase display of an article such as a musical instrument sounded by shaking or rotating. The display package has a first opening for facilitating grasping and manipulation of the package by a consumer. A second opening permits sound to be emitted by the instrument. The second opening may be shaped for allowing appendages of the musical instrument to strike a percussion surface of the musical instrument upon rotation of the package.
Abstract:
A oil filter wrench and packaging arrangement therefore are disclosed. The oil filter wrench has a cup-shaped body with a socket formed therein for receiving the top of a conventional oil filter. The interior side wall has a step therein circumscribing the socket. The oil filter wrench can be packaged between a cardboard backing and plastic cover sheet such that the cover sheet over laps the rim of the cup-shaped body. The step spaces the plastic sheet from the socket, keeping the socket area open. With this packaging arrangement the consumer can try his oil filter with the wrench without destroying the package to determine whether the wrench suits his needs before purchasing it.
Abstract:
A recloseable paperboard container includes a bottom wall, opposing front and back walls, and opposing side walls. The back wall includes a first major top flap connected to an upper transverse edge of the back wall, the first major top flap having a top edge lock tab protruding from an outer edge of the first major top flap. The front wall includes a second major top flap connected to an upper transverse edge of the front wall, the second major top flap having a top edge slit disposed on the upper transverse edge of the front wall. The container is sealed either by securing the second major top flap over the first major top flap using adhesive, or by securing the first major top flap over the second major top flap through engagement of the top edge lock tab with the top edge slit. An integral tear strip extends across the second major top flap and is used to open a container sealed by securing the second major top flap over the first major top flap. After the container is initially opened, it is reclosed by engaging the top edge lock tab with the top edge slit. A minor top flap includes a "broken set" tab for indicating that the container has been previously opened and that a product has been removed.
Abstract:
An animated toy with articulated moving parts in a package is disclosed. An opening in the package allows a person to operate a switch to activate the toy. When the toy is activated, the moving articulated parts can be observed through openings in the package or alternatively through transparent sections in the package. In addition, lights can be activated and flashed and an annunciator can be employed to emit sounds which are seen and heard by the person while the animated toy is in the package. In another embodiment, the front side of the package is open and the toy is secured to the back side with a band, allowing for access to activate the toy and to observe the moving articulated parts through the open side.
