Abstract:
A radiographic diagnostic apparatus including an X-ray tube for generating X-ray radiation, a line slit for shaping the X-ray radiation into a fan beam, a linear X-ray sensor array for detecting the X-ray radiation, and apparatus for driving the components is provided. The focal spot of the X-ray tube and the line slit are disposed on a straight line that connects between a specified fixed point and the center of the linear sensor array of a line extending therefrom. The X-ray tube, the line slit and the linear X-ray sensor array are driven together in a direction perpendicular to the direction of alignment of the linear X-ray sensor array so as to scan an object and thereby produce a radiographic image of the object.
Abstract:
A miniature microwave transmitter/receiver is small enough to be mounted in the feeder of a microwave antenna. The transmitter and receiver do not interfere with each other despite their close proximity resulting from their small size. The non-interfering results are achieved by frequency separating the bands used for transmission, reception, and the intermediate transmit and receive frequencies. Since none of these frequencies overlap, they do not interfere with each other, even if there is an insufficient isolation between systems.
Abstract:
A fuel cell manifold mounted airtightly on the side walls of a fuel cell stack, the manifold comprising a seal layer covering the periphery of a wall of the fuel cell stack, a frame-shaped seal spacer having one side mounted airtightly on the seal layer and penetrated by a pipe carrying a cooling solution or electrolyte, and a box-shaped manifold cover mounted airtightly on the opposite side of the seal spacer. A second embodiment employs a hollow seal spacer that functions in place of the pipes carrying cooling solution or electrolyte.
Abstract:
The external resonator type semiconductor laser of the present invention includes a semiconductor laser element, a reflection member having a reflecting mirror surface for feeding back to the laser element a laser beam emitted from an emitting end surface of the semiconductor laser element, and a mount member for fixedly mounting the laser element and reflection member thereon. The coefficient of linear expansion of the mount member is adapted to be smaller than the coefficient of linear expansion of the semiconductor laser element and reflection member so that the distance between the emitting surface and the reflecting surface (i.e. the external resonator length) decreases with a rise in temperature.
Abstract:
In a tape cartridge of the Philips type, one or more ribs are projected from a main plate of each case half at regions except for the tape chamber and the tape path so as to conform to one or more flow lines of resin when each half of molded, the cartridge is so that the formation of traces of resin can be prevented, resulting in an increase in mechanical strength of the cartridge.
Abstract:
A rear wheel drive vehicle having a pair of front steering wheels, a pair of rear driving wheels having axles coupled thereto, and a device for sensing the steering of the front wheels and for steering the rear wheels in response thereto. A differential gear apparatus between the axles of the rear wheels, wherein the differential gear apparatus is a differential lock type, including a differential restricting device such that, when steering the front wheels, the rear wheels are steered in the same direction as the front wheels.
Abstract:
A partition wall and a pair of side ribs are disposed in the front portion of a tape cartridge with a gap substantially equal to a thickness of a magnetic shielding plate so as to support the magnetic shielding plate by the partition wall and the side ribs, so that the magnetic shielding plate can be placed in position correctly and easily, thereby assuring reliable positioning of a pad supporting plate.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a hollow-fiber filter module comprising a straight tube, a bundle of hollow fibers having at least a part thereof disposed within the straight tube, a fastening member for bundling and fixing the open ends of the hollow fibers, and at least a branch tube having an end protruding to the outside of the straight tube, that surface of the fastening member which includes the open ends of the hollow fibers being attached to the branch tube in a fluid-tight manner, as well as a filtration method in which a plurality of such hollow-fiber filter modules are connected in series to form a filter module assembly and a fluid to be treated is filtered by utilizing one end of the connected straight tubes of the assembly as an inlet for the fluid to be treated, the other end thereof as an outlet for the fluid to be treated, and the branch tube of each module as an outlet for the filtered fluid. This hollow-fiber filter module has a simple construction, causes only a slight pressure loss of the fluid to be treated, and is suitable for use in the treatment of fluids by cross flow filtration.
Abstract:
A voltage controlled diode attenuator has no coils and, therefore, may be built in integrated circuit form. At least one pair of similarly poled diodes and a resistor are connected in a series circuit. An input signal and variable control voltage are applied to a junction between first and adjoining sides of the pair of diodes. An output voltage appears at an opposite side of one of the diodes. A differential amplifier applies a fixed bias voltage to the output terminal, and a negative feedback is connected between the opposite side of the one diode and an input to the differential amplifier.
Abstract:
A position coordinate input device including an input plate subjected, at a point, to an external force with a finger, etc. so as to input data of coordinates of the point into a computer and the like. The device further includes four elastic support members for supporting the input plate, a pair of two first detectors yielding outputs of temperature characteristics of a first sign and a pair of two second detectors yielding outputs of temperature characteristics of a second sign opposite to the first sign so as to enable accurate detection of the coordinates of the point of application of the external force in a simplified construction.
