Abstract:
A system and method for manufacturing pocketed compound nested coil springs includes inserting a compressed, preferably pocketed, smaller coil spring into a horizontally oriented larger coil spring either prior to compressing and inserting the outer coil spring into pocket material or after the larger coil spring has been pocketed thereby requiring the first spring to be inserted into and through an opening in the pocket material.
Abstract:
A shelf assembly comprising a shelf having a front frame member and a rear frame member and a plurality of substantially parallel dividers extending between the front frame member and the rear frame member. The dividers are arranged in pairs defining a plurality of tracks for supporting a plurality of products arranged in columns between the pairs of dividers. At least one pusher is located within each track for urging a column of products forwardly along the track. Each pusher comprises a sheet of flexible material having a memory characteristic which biases the sheet toward a flat planar orientation. Each pusher is forced into an upwardly bowed inverted U-shaped configuration between the rear frame member of the shelf and a rearwardmost product in a column of products in a track so as to urge the column of products forwardly toward the front frame member when a forwardmost product is removed.
Abstract:
A shelf assembly comprising a shelf having a bottom member, a plurality of substantially parallel spaced dividers extending from back to front and a serpentine shaped pusher for urging a column of products forwardly inside a track defined by the bottom member and a pair of dividers. The pusher comprises a sheet of inherently resilient flexible material having a sinusoidal configuration. The pusher extends between a stop and a rearwardmost product within a column of products in a track.
Abstract:
A self standing merchandiser adapted to straddle a pallet loaded with product or an end display of product. The merchandiser comprises a continuous frame made of multiple pieces having an inverted U-shaped front portion and an inverted U-shaped rear portion connected by two stabilizer portions adapted to engage the supporting surface of the continuous frame. A plurality of parallel shelves extend between the front and rear portions of the merchandiser on the exterior of the frame and provide additional shelving.
Abstract:
An edge support spring and handle structure is provided for use in mattresses comprising a continuous length of wire bent to have an elongated top portion and a pair of transverse arms extending downwardly and inwardly from the ends of the top portion, and a bottom portion that mirrors the top portion, with each pair of mirrored transverse arms meeting in a loop to form a pair of loops to which a pair of inwardly extending members of a handle attach. The handle is constructed to have an elongated portion for gripping outside the mattress cover and inwardly extending members that attach to the loops in the edge support spring, such that any strain created by use of the handles will be directed to the edge support spring.
Abstract:
A notching apparatus to be used in a tube cutting machine comprising a notching arm having a notching blade holder at the end thereof, a clamping plate and a notching blade having an irregularly shaped peripheral edge comprising three recesses and a cutting edge on the inside of each recess. The notching blade holder has two pins extending outwardly thereof for insertion through two of the three recesses of the notching blade in order to hold the notching blade firmly in place. A plurality of fasteners secure the clamping plate to the notching blade holder with the notching blade resting in a cutout portion of the clamping plate and held securely against rotation by the two pins.
Abstract:
A collated stack of U-shaped sheet metal clips, each of which has an arcuate crown portion and first and second parallel leg portions depending from the crown portion. The first leg portion of each clip is juxtaposed immediately adjacent the second leg portion of the adjacent U-shaped clip. Each clip has two spaced apertures through the arcuate crown portion and at least one upstanding tab adjacent the edge of each aperture into which a non-metal elongate flexible connector is inserted and secured by folding the tab or tabs downwardly over the top of the aperture. Alternative embodiments of sheet metal clips and methods of collating an array of such clips are disclosed.
