摘要： A single piece coupling device for connecting a load component to a rotatable shaft. The device comprises a sleeve having a bore for containing a rotatable shaft, an externally threaded portion and a tapered engagement face on the outer surface of the sleeve. Radial compression relief associated with the tapered engagement face is provided such that when the device is fitted on a shaft, and as the threaded portion engages with a corresponding threaded region on the load component, the tapered engagement face engages the load component and the compression relief enables the sleeve to be radially compressed to grip the shaft.

摘要： A notching apparatus to be used in a tube cutting machine comprising a notching arm having a notching blade holder at the end thereof, a clamping plate and a notching blade having an irregularly shaped peripheral edge comprising three recesses and a cutting edge on the inside of each recess. The notching blade holder has two pins extending outwardly thereof for insertion through two of the three recesses of the notching blade in order to hold the notching blade firmly in place. A plurality of fasteners secure the clamping plate to the notching blade holder with the notching blade resting in a cutout portion of the clamping plate and held securely against rotation by the two pins.

摘要： A rail clip is made by bending a metal rod with a length less than 18 times its thickness so that it has a substantially straight leg which lies substantially parallel to a railway rail in use of the clip and portions on both sides of this leg which press on the rail and a fixed surface, respectively. An arch connecting one of these portions to the leg rises at an angle of less than 45.degree. to the horizontal, proceeding along the rod away from the leg.

摘要： A railway rail-fastening clip is made by bending a resilient rod at least 0.8 centimeter thick in a first bending operation to give it first to fifth portions in direct succession, proceeding from one end to the other, the first portion being a substantially straight leg, the second a reverse bend, the third being beside the first and the whole being such that in a particular position, with the first portion horizontal, in a plan view the third and fifth portions appear to be in opposite sides of the axis of the first portion. The whole of that part of the fifth portion which is between the lowest point in the fifth portion, when the bent rod is in said position, and the adjacent end of the rod is pressed in a second bending operation by a first shaping tool against a second shaping tool to make said end upturned. Preferably some of the fifth portion on the other side of said lowest point is also pressed by the first tool against the second, which is preferably formed with a recess into which the rod is pressed.
