    Abstract: A vaporizing assembly for an aerosol-generating system may comprise a delivery device and a heater assembly. The heater assembly may comprise a heat resistive substrate and a heating element. The delivery device is configured to deliver an aerosol-forming substrate to at least a surface of the heat resistive substrate, wherein the heating element is isolated or separated from the aerosol-forming substrate by the heat resistive substrate. The present disclosure is also directed to a method for generating an aerosol.

    Abstract: A capsule may include a housing, an aerosol-forming substrate, and a heater. The housing defines inlet openings, outlet openings, and a chamber between the inlet openings and the outlet openings. The chamber may have a longest dimension extending from at least one of the inlet openings to a corresponding one of the outlet openings. The aerosol-forming substrate is within the chamber of the housing. The heater is embedded in the housing. The heater includes a first end section, an intermediate section, and a second end section. The intermediate section is disposed within the aerosol-forming substrate in the chamber. An aerosol-generating device may include a device body with a lid configured to open to permit an insertion of the capsule and configured to close to engage the capsule within the device body.

    Abstract: A vaporizer assembly, which includes a heating element and a conduit assembly configured to direct air to flow through a conduit in fluid communication with the heating element, further includes a dispensing interface assembly configured to be in fluid communication with both the conduit and the vaporizer assembly exterior. The dispensing interface assembly includes a first dispensing interface and a second dispensing interface. The first dispensing interface is in direct fluid communication with the conduit and the heating element. A portion of the second dispensing interface is exposed to the vaporizer assembly exterior. The second dispensing interface is isolated from direct fluid communication with the heating element by the first dispensing interface, and the first dispensing interface is isolated from direct fluid communication with the reservoir by the second dispensing interface. The second dispensing interface is configured to restrict a flow of pre-vapor formulation to the first dispensing interface.

    Abstract: An electronic cigarette (“e-Cig”) may include functionality for monitoring and controlling the thermal properties of the e-Cig. The system and method described herein may monitor a temperature based on a resistor (i.e. hot wire) near the wick and model the thermal cycle of an e-Cig. The model can be used for controlling the temperature of the e-Cig and preventing burning. The temperature control may dictate optimal conditions for atomization and smoke generation in an e-Cig while avoiding hotspots and burning to the atomizer or cartomizer.

    Abstract: At least some example embodiments relate to a container including a body and a lid. The body includes a base, a side wall, and an interior region at least partially defined by the base and the side wall. The lid includes a lid wall and a skirt that extends from a periphery of the lid wall. The skirt engages the body to retain the lid on the body. The skirt cooperates with the lid wall to define a cavity. The lid is formed from a laminate including a metal layer and a polymer layer coupled to the metal layer.
