Abstract: A touch input device includes a display module, a substrate for blocking electrical noise or for separating the display module from a circuit board or battery for operation of the touch input device, and a first electrode disposed on the display module and a second electrode disposed on the substrate. A spacer layer is disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode. A pressure magnitude of the touch is detected based on a capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode. The capacitance is changed depending on the distance between the first electrode and the second electrode. The display module is bent by the touch, and the distance between the first electrode and the second electrode is changed due to the bending of the display module. The first electrode is disposed on a bendable surface of the display module.

Abstract: A touch input device may be provided that includes: a cover; a display module disposed under the cover; and a pressure sensing unit disposed under the display module. The pressure sensing unit includes a first elastic foam, a pressure sensor disposed on the first elastic foam, and a first adhesive layer disposed between the first elastic foam and the pressure sensor. A change amount of a stress of the first elastic foam required for the first elastic foam to be compressed to half of the thickness thereof from its original state is less than the change amount of the stress of the first elastic foam required for the first elastic foam to be compressed from half of the thickness thereof to the thickness to which the first elastic foam is able to be maximally compressed.

Abstract: A touch input device capable of detecting pressure of a touch on a touch surface may be provided. The touch input device includes: a display module including a display panel; a substrate which is disposed below the display module and is a reference potential layer; and one or more pressure electrodes which are formed on the display panel. The display panel includes electrodes used to drive the display panel. A drive signal Tx which is applied to the pressure electrode is simultaneously applied to one or more of the electrodes used to drive the display panel. A capacitance which is detected at the pressure electrode is changed by a distance change between the pressure electrode and the substrate due to the pressure applied to the touch surface. A magnitude of the pressure applied to the touch surface is calculated based on the detected capacitance calculated from the capacitance which is detected at the pressure electrode.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a touch input device capable of detecting a pressure and a position of a touch on a touch surface is disclosed. The touch input device includes a cover layer of glass, a display panel, and a touch sensor panel fully laminated on the display panel. The device further includes a substrate spaced apart from the display panel and separating the display panel from a circuit board and a battery for operation of the touch input device, and a pressure electrode disposed between the display panel and the substrate. Drive electrodes are formed on one side of an insulation layer, and receiving electrodes are formed on the other side of the insulation layer. Further, a distance between the substrate and the display panel is maintained by a double adhesive tape formed on edge portions of the substrate and the display panel when no pressure is applied.

Abstract: A touch sensor panel may be provided that includes: a plurality of drive electrodes formed in a first layer; and a plurality of receiving electrodes which are disposed to cross the plurality of drive electrodes and are formed in a second layer. The plurality of drive electrodes include a first electrode line and a first protrusion pattern, and the plurality of receiving electrodes include a second electrode line and a second protrusion pattern. The plurality of drive electrodes are arranged at a regular interval in a column direction, and the plurality of receiving electrodes are arranged at a regular interval in a row direction. As a result, the touch sensor panel capable of linearly detecting the capacitance change is provided, thereby accurately detecting the touch position of a finger or a stylus pen.
