    Abstract: Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing downlink and uplink scheduling in communication above 52.6 GHz. For example, some aspects of this disclosure relate to a base station. The base station includes a transceiver configured to communicate over a wireless network with a user equipment (UE) and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The processor determines that the communication between the base station and the UE is in a frequency range above 52.6 GHz. In response to the determination, the processor disables a frequency main resource assignment (FDRA), modifies a Resource Block Group (RBG) size, or modifies a Resource Indication Value (RIV) determination. The processor generates a Downlink Channel Indicator (DCI) based at least on one or more of the disabled FDRA, the modified RBG size, or the modified RIV determination. The processor transmits, using the transceiver, the DCI to the UE.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for beam failure recovery (BFR) are disclosed herein. A user equipment (UE) receives downlink (DL) reference signal(s) on corresponding beam(s) from a base station. The UE performs beam failure detection (BFD) on such beams used for user data to determine whether a beam failure has occurred, and candidate beam detection (CBD) on such beams not used for user data to identify candidate beams for recovering from the beam failure. The BFD and the CBD are based on both uplink (UL) channel performance considerations and DL channel performance considerations, as determined using the DL reference signal(s), such that a beam failure may be determined in the UL, the DL, or both, and a candidate beam may be identified for UL, DL, or both. The UE sends a beam failure recovery request BFRQ with this information to the base station, and the system changes beams accordingly.

    Abstract: An example method for wireless communication includes: transmitting to a base station, via a user device: (1) a capability report for each of a plurality of antenna panels; and (2) an initial antenna panel index; receiving, from the base station, configuration information corresponding to each antenna panel of the plurality of antenna panels; selecting a first antenna panel for a first uplink (UL) transmission to the base station, wherein the first antenna panel corresponds to the antenna panel with the initial antenna panel index; selecting first configuration information corresponding to the selected first antenna panel; and transmitting the first UL transmission to the base station, using the selected first antenna panel and the selected first configuration information. In other aspects, rather than initially receiving configuration information corresponding to each antenna panel, the user device may receive the configuration information for each panel as it is selected for an UL transmission.

The UE receives a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission configured with downlink control information (DCI) in a single-DCI, multi-transmission/reception point (TRP) operation, wherein the DCI schedules reception of a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission, determines whether or not a TCI field is configured in the DCI, when the TCI field is not configured in the DCI, determining a default beam based on a control resource set (CORESET) with the lowest ID in the PDCCH and when the TCI field is configured in the DCI, determining whether the TCI field indicates a TCI codepoint includes two TCI states.
