The method also includes acquiring measurement data from a sensor, the measurement data indicative of a measured parameter related to the oscillation of the downhole component at the plurality of first rotary speed values, and estimating the stability value of the rotating downhole component as a function of an operational parameter based on the acquired measurement data.

The methods and systems include modulating, by a first device at the surface location, a fluid flow through a mud motor according to a predetermined pattern, the mud motor disposed in the borehole, the modulated fluid flow generating a mechanical movement variation pattern of at least a part of the mud motor, detecting, by a second device in the downhole component, the mechanical movement variation pattern, and demodulating the mechanical movement variation pattern to receive a signal that is related to the predetermined pattern.

The method further includes performing a plurality of drilling simulations using the model, each simulation providing a probability of the drilling dysfunction occurring or a probability of a drilling performance indicator value occurring with associated drilling parameters used in the simulation, selecting a set of drilling parameters that optimizes a drilling objective using the probabilities of the drilling dysfunction occurring or the probabilities of a drilling performance indicator value occurring; and transmitting the selected set of drilling parameters to a signal receiving device.

The equation of motion has a static force component, an excitation force component, and a non-linear force component with respect to at least one of a deflection and a derivative of the deflection of the drill string. The method further includes: transforming the first displacement from the frequency domain into a time domain; calculating a non-linear force in the time domain; calculating a frequency domain coefficient derived from the calculated non-linear force in the time domain; and calculating a second displacement of the drill string in the frequency domain using the equation of motion and the frequency domain coefficient.
