A method can include installing a biasing device in a plurality of protrusions that extend radially outward, extending a portion of each biasing device past an outer radial surface of a respective protrusion to engage a tubular, and extending a portion of each biasing device past an inner radial surface of a central bore of the centralizer to engage a tool, where the first portion and the second portion are configured to substantially align a center axis of the tool with a center axis of the tubular when the tool is installed in the tubular.

    摘要: A tubular is prepared for downhole use to include integrated centralizer feature disposed thereon. Blade elements are disposed about a surface of the tubular. An interconnection, such as a band, connected between the blade elements can be used to wrap them circumferentially about the tubular. The blade elements are then affixed to the surface of the tubular to produce the integrated centralizer features by coating a spray welding material over at least a portion of the plurality of blade elements and over at least an adjacent portion of the surface of the tubular. The blade elements can be hollow vanes or fins so they are collapsible when a restriction is encountered downhole to avoid a stuck pipe situation.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a wireline cased-hole roller (WCRO) for deployment during a logging operation that reduces slickline or e-line cable contact and drag in the cased hole section of a wellbore. Arrays of WCROs, clamped on the slickline or e-line, reduce logging tensions and improve force transmission from surface down to the tool cable head by significantly reducing the cased-hole cable drag. They also permit the use of lower grade cables or winches in certain environments due to lower logging tensions. Another benefit is the mitigation of cased hole cable wear zones since the cable is suspended above the casing, liner or tubing. In high-angle or horizontal wells, arrays of WCROs aid conveyance and improve tractor performance by reducing the cable drag force which has to be overcome to reach the target zone.

    摘要: A packer arrangement for a sealed passage of a drillstring therethrough. The drillstring has geometric differences between passing drill pipes and joint couplings. The packer arrangement includes a packer holder which forms a housing with an axially through-going center passage which has a flexible packer sleeve arranged in a portion thereof, an external annulus which encloses the packer holder, an internal annulus, and two actuators which apply an axial tensile force to the flexible packer sleeve. The flexible packer sleeve has a center portion and two end terminations which are axially displaceable in the packer holder. The internal annulus is delimited by the center portion of the flexible packer sleeve and by the packer holder. The internal annulus is in a fluid communication with the external annulus. Each of the two end terminations is coupled to one of the two actuators, respectively.

The directionally drilling comprises generating, by an electrical source, an electrical energy and storing, by a primary capacitor, the electrical energy. The method includes periodically discharging the electrical energy from the primary capacitor to be received by a switching device having a number of outputs, wherein each output of the number of outputs is electrically coupled to an electrode of a number of electrodes positioned on an electrode assembly; and unevenly distributing, by the switching device, the electrical energy across the number of electrodes based on selecting a subset of the number of electrodes to receive the electrical energy to alter a direction of the drilling of the borehole based on emitting of the electrical energy by the selected subset of the number of electrodes into the subsurface formation.
