Abstract:
A recloseable and resealable beverage can end closure includes a base plate beneath the center panel and a tab plate above the center panel. The closure is slidable relative to the center a panel to uncover the pour aperture and then to position the closure over the pour aperture to enable resealing.
Abstract:
An apparatus (20) provides an on-screen menu system that enables users to navigate through the menu system while maintaining a mental map of where they are within the menu system. According to an exemplary embodiment, the apparatus (20) includes a memory (25) and a processor (24). The memory (25) stores data for the on-screen menu system. The processor (24) is operatively coupled to the memory (25) and enables display of a first menu of the on-screen menu system including a title displayed in a first size and a plurality of subtitles displayed in a second size. Each of the subtitles is associated with a different one of a plurality of submenus. The processor (24) receives a user input selecting a first one of the subtitles and, responsive to the user input, enables display of a first one of the submenus associated with the first subtitle with the first subtitle displayed in the first size and the title of the first menu displayed in the second size.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus and system are provided for the automatic replacement of potentially objectionable audio content from an audio signal in real time. In one embodiment of the present invention, the selective filtering of objectionable audio content from an audio signal is accomplished by first marking objectionable audio content in the audio signal with filtering information that identifies the type of objectionable audio content (e.g., crude language, ethnic and racial slurs, cursing, strong profanity) and storing the filtering information and the corresponding location of the objectionable audio content for that particular audio signal. Objectionable audio content having filtering information corresponding to a stored replacement content code determined from a predetermined replacement setting is then automatically replaced with an audio clip corresponding to the replacement setting.
Abstract:
A support stand assembly for a rod and reel combination comprises a horizontal base member with a vertical support member extending from the base member. A linear support arm member is pivotally secured at a first end to the vertical support member, with the support arm member extending horizontally in a support position and pivoting upwardly to a release position. A stop member is secured adjacent a second end of the support arm member with a portion of the arm member extending beyond the stop member. An attachment member is adapted for securement to the rod of a rod and reel combination. The attachment member engages with the portion of the arm member extending beyond the stop member to support the rod and reel combination. In use, the attachment member is secured at the balance point of the rod and reel combination and engaged with the portion of the arm member extending beyond the stop member to support the rod and reel combination in a horizontal position. The support arm member disengages from the attachment member upon pivoting of the support arm member to the release position by upward movement of the rod and reel combination.
Abstract:
A drive axle assembly for a motor vehicle comprises a support beam member, a differential assembly module secured to the support beam member and a cover member fastened to the support beam member to cover at least a portion the differential assembly module. The cover member includes two spaced access openings with adjustable sealing flange devices for sealing an interior cavity within the cover member between the access openings and corresponding axle shaft members. The sealing flange device is positionally adjustable relative to the cover member. A method for adjusting position of the sealing flange device relative to the cover member comprises the steps of securing the cover member to the axle support member, mounting the sealing flange device to the cover member, adjusting the position of the sealing flange device relative to the cover member and securing the sealing flange device to the cover member.
Abstract:
The disclosure of this invention pertains to a system for optimizing fuel consumption in an aircraft having two engines, wherein a computer is programmed to increase the fuel flow to the engine which, consequent upon a fuel flow perturbation, shows itself to be responsible for the greater acceleration of the aircraft. Direction changes resulting from unequal fuel flows to the engines are compensated for by automatic rudder control, and speed changes resulting from the fuel flow changes are compensated for by automatic speed control also acting on fuel flow, all whereby direction and speed of flight are maintained while fuel consumption is minimized.
