Abstract:
A shock absorber mounting system for a drawer slide system comprising a fixed drawer slide member fixedly attached to a furniture frame, a moveable drawer slide fixedly attached to a drawer and slideably attached to the fixed slide member for guiding the drawer in and out of a furniture frame, a shock absorber comprising a cylinder and a piston wherein the piston is operable to slide in and out of the cylinder and wherein air is controllably allowed to enter or escape the cylinder in response to movement of the piston, a retainer clip comprising a central aperture for receiving and retaining the shock absorber and a base portion comprising means for engaging a mounting bracket, and a mounting bracket comprising means for retaining the retainer clip and shock absorber and wherein the mounting bracket is fixedly attached to the fixed drawer slide. In another embodiment of the present invention, the moveable drawer slide comprises a piston engaging member for engaging the piston of the shock absorber, and the piston engaging member comprises a metallic flange and wherein the end of the piston further comprises a magnet.
Abstract:
A drawer closing mechanism comprising a rack fixed in position with respect to a furniture frame member and comprising a plurality of teeth a drive gear mounted to a drawer and comprising a plurality of teeth for engaging the teeth on the rack, and a spring with two ends, one end fixedly attached to said drive gear and rotatable therewith and the opposite end fixed, wherein as the drawer is pulled open, the teeth on the drive gear engage the teeth on the rack and rotate the drive gear, and as the drive gear rotates, the spring is wound and potential energy is stored in the tension therein. The drawer slide is mounted to the furniture frame member, and the rack is mounted to the drawer slide. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the spring comprises a flat wire spring wound circumferentially about a central point in a spiral.
Abstract:
A rotary shelf assembly mechanism has shelves mounted on a vertical post arrangement formed by a first lower post and a second upper post. The mechanism is connected to a cabinet by upper and lower mounting brackets interacting with the top and bottom of the cabinet to support the posts and shelves carried thereby. The mechanism is mounted in the corner of the cabinet. To fit the mechanism within the cabinet, a height adjustment device is formed by positioning the second upper post in the upper end of the first lower post for slidable movement therebetween. When securement of the two joined posts and mounted shelves is desired, the slidably movable second upper post is extended upwardly until it engages the upper mounting bracket mounted on the cabinet. An elongated recess in the second upper post aligns with an opening in the first lower post, and a threaded member extends into a casting positioned within the upper post. The threaded member is tightened to engage the casting and secure the two posts in a shelf-retaining and rotational mode. The height adjustment device enables quick and efficient installation of the mechanism within the cabinet interior. The mechanism also includes a one piece shelf construction having a post-securing section and a shelf-retaining pin.
Abstract:
A mounting plate for a furniture hinge includes a hinge plate which is adapted to be pivotably connected to a hinge component, such as a hinge cup, at least one pair, and preferably two pairs of opposing legs, depending from the hinge plate, and a fastener opening formed in the hinge plate between the opposing legs. The opposing legs are spaced apart from one another and depend from the hinge plate parallel to one another. Further, the opposing legs extend from the hinge plate a distance which is at least as great as or equal to the distance by which the opposing legs are spaced from one another.
Abstract:
A bracket for mounting a drawer guide supporting a moveable structure for use in a desk or cabinet with sidewalls and a desk or cabinet opening has a body portion with a bottom surface which carries at least one leg upstanding from the bottom surface for engaging a sidewall of the desk or cabinet and with a top surface spaced from the bottom surface which carries means for supporting a drawer guide in predetermined spaced relationship to the sidewall and desk or cabinet opening to enable movement of the moveable structure supported on the drawer guide through the desk or cabinet opening. The drawer guide is supported on the top surface of the body portion by one or more drawer guide mounting screws receivable in one or more mounting holes formed in the body portion top surface. The top surface of the body portion may also include portions defining a wing member engagable by the desk or cabinet opening.
Abstract:
A drawer guide for supporting a moveable structure such as a drawer in a furniture article includes a guide rail having a rotatable guide rail roller, which guide rail is mountable to the furniture article in a generally horizontally disposed position, and a pull-out rail for carrying the moveable structure, which pull-out rail has a pull-out rail upper ledge in rolling contact with the guide rail roller enabling forward and rearward horizontal movement of the pull-out rail and carried structure, and the pull-out rail is provided with a pull-out rail retaining member engaging the guide rail roller in a rearward position of the pull-out rail resisting forward movement of the pull-out rail.
Abstract:
An adjustable recessed door hinge includes a hinge cup displacably insertable in a bore of one of a frame or door member, a hinge pin mounted in the hinge cup, and a hinge arm pivoted at one end on the hinge pin and displacably securable at the other end of the hinge arm to the other of the frame or door member. The hinge cup is dimensioned to be displacable in the bore relative to the frame or door member. Slotted holes for receiving attaching screws guide displacement of the hinge cup and hinge arm relative to the frame and door members.
Abstract:
An improvement in a hinge arm fastening plate which includes a spacer preferably formed of plastic material and suitable to provide horizontal position adjustment of the hinge arm fastening plate relative to a supported door.
Abstract:
A description is given of a drawer with a trim shape, the drawer moving on guide rollers over guide rails, and the drawer having front and rear sides along with drawer sides opposite each other. In order to protect the drawer sides from internal or external effect, and to give the drawer additional stability, the trim shape is designed as an elongated shaped component mounted on the sides of the drawer, a shoulder being arranged at the top side of a drawer side for locking the shaped component, the bottom side of the shaped component engaging a locking groove of the drawer side.
