摘要:
A printhead IC is provided which has an array of nozzles, drive circuitry for receiving print data and sending drive pulses of electrical energy to the array of nozzles in accordance with the print data, and a temperature sensor connected to the drive circuitry to adjust the drive pulse profile in response to the temperature sensor output. During use, the temperature sensor can be de-activated after a period of use. The drive circuitry sets the duration of the pulse profile to a sub ejection value for any of the nozzles in the row that are not to eject a drop during that firing sequence.

A printer is provided having a printhead of first and second elongate printhead modules and first and second printer controllers configured to receive print data and process the print data to output dot data to the printhead. The printhead modules are parallel to each other, are disposed end to end on either side of a join region, and are of different lengths. The first printer controller is arranged to output dot data to both the first and second printhead modules and the second printer controller is arranged to output dot data only to the second printhead module. One or more of the printhead modules has at least one row of print nozzles and at least two shift registers for shifting in the dot data to at least one row. Each print nozzle obtains the dot data from an element of one of the shift registers.

An inkjet printer comprising: a printhead with a plurality of printhead IC's, each having an array of nozzles for ejecting drops of printing fluid, and drive circuitry for driving the array of nozzles; a print engine controller for sending print data to the printhead IC's; an interface for electrical communication between the print engine controller and the printhead IC's; wherein, all the printhead IC's have a common initial address except one printhead IC at the end of the printhead, the exception having a different address such that the print engine controller sends a first broadcast instruction to any printhead IC's having the different address, the first broadcast instruction instructing the printhead IC having the different address to change its address to a first unique address, the printhead IC's being interconnected such that when the exception has undated its address, the address of the adjacent printhead IC changes to the different address so that a second broadcast command changes the write address to a second unique address and so on until all the printhead IC's have unique addresses provided by the PEC.

An inkjet printhead is provided having inkjet printhead modules arranged to successively abut one another and controllers for controlling the printhead modules. A first controller is configured to receive and process print data to generate first ink dot data and a second controller is configured to receive and process print data and at least some of the first dot data to generate second ink dot data. The first controller is arranged to output the first dot data to at least a first printhead module and the second controller. The second controller is arranged to output the second dot data to at least a second printhead module.
摘要:
A method of at least partially compensating for errors in ink dot placement by at least one of a plurality of nozzles due to erroneous rotational displacement of a printhead module relative to a carrier, the nozzles being disposed on the printhead module, the method comprising the steps of determining the rotational displacement; determining at least one correction factor that at least partially compensates for the ink dot displacement; and using the correction factor to alter the output of the ink dots to at least partially compensate for the rotational displacement.

A printer controller is provided for supplying one or more control signals to a printhead module. The printhead module includes at least one row that has a plurality of adjacent sets of n−1 adjacent nozzles. Each of the nozzles is configured to expel ink in response to a fire signal. The printer controller is configured to supply, for each set of nozzles, a fire signal in accordance with the sequence: [nozzle position 1, nozzle position n, nozzle position 2, nozzle position (n+1), . . . , nozzle position (n−1), nozzle position (2n−1)].

An inkjet printer comprising: an array of nozzles arranged into rows, each row of nozzles is divided into a series of groups; and, drive circuitry for sending a drive pulse to each of the nozzles individually such that they eject a drop of printing fluid; wherein, the drive circuitry delays sending the drive pulses to one of the groups relative to at least one of the other groups.

A printhead IC comprising: an array of nozzles, each with a corresponding heater to form a vapor bubble in printing fluid that causes a drop of the printing fluid to eject through the nozzle; and, drive circuitry for generating drive pulses that energize the heaters, the drive circuitry being configured to operate in two modes, a printing mode in which the drive pulses it generates are printing pulses, and a maintenance mode in which the drive pulses are de-clog pulses; wherein, the de-clog pulse has lower power and a longer duration than the printing pulse.
