摘要： A developer supply container is mountable to a developer receiving apparatus including a driving gear, and includes a developer discharging opening; a feeding blade for feeding the developer toward the opening when the container is positioned at a developer discharging position; a drive receiving gear engageable with the driving gear for rotating the feeding blade; a regulating projection for regulating a mounting attitude of the container to prevent engagement between the drive receiving and driving gears. Upon mounting the container, the drive receiving gear is revolvable, with manual rotation of the container, about a rotation center of the container to a set position where the drive receiving gear engages with the driving gear; and a load applier for applying a load to the drive receiving gear to rotate the container from the set position to the discharging position by the rotational force received by the drive receiving gear.

After the developer supply container 1 rotates to the supply position, the locking by the locking member 7 is released, by which the rotation load applied to the second gear 6 is reduced, so that drive transmission, thereafter, to the feeding member 4 for developer supply is smooth.

In view of this, the gear 5 is rotated to effect the locking member 7 to lock by abutment of an engaging portion 5d of the gear 5 to an engaging portion 13a of the developer receiving apparatus 10 with inserting operation of developer supply container 1. Therefore, upon completion of the insertion of the developer supply container 1, the gear train 5, 6 is locked by the locking member 7, and therefore, the setting rotation of the developer supply container 1 can be carried out properly.

The electric contact portion is provided on the surface of the ink jet head which differs from the first surface, and an integral sealing member covers both the ink ejection outlet and the electric contact portion. The integral sealing member is removed when the assembly is mounted onto the ink jet apparatus.
