Abstract:
A system and corresponding method for providing personalized assistance to users with setup of their respective media-playing sets provides a computing device remote from each set hosting a web page interface for prompting each user to create an individual account and to submit personal setup information for entry into this account; a script generator generates a personalized script for each set based on the personal setup information entered into the individual account of the corresponding user; this personalized script, by being activated, configures the corresponding set including by automatically making personalized setup selections from a plurality of preexisting setup alternatives supported by the corresponding set. These preexisting setup alternatives, for example, typically are described in a user manual accompanying or available for the set and, absent the present system and method, typically require difficult manual configuration to implement.
Abstract:
A system and corresponding method to facilitate operating a media-playing set with a display provides a storage device, a collection component transferring personal preference information to the storage device about the broadcast preferences of the user including personal program and setting information, and an access component enabling user access to such preference information for a particular day and time such that information identifying at least one of the programs and individually identifying at least two of the settings for that program are presented on the display. The same where the storage device is remotely located, where the user is prompted for the set's geographical location, where personal preference information is collected from other related users from which community preference information is calculated, and/or where the user can either adopt the given personal preference settings, independently adjust each setting interactively on-screen, or elect corresponding community preference settings.
Abstract:
An exemplary method to help end users configure their respective media playing sets includes prompting the user for their geographical location, transmitting the location to a remote processing site which identifies broadcast settings particularly suited for the location, and adjusting the set remotely from the site to fully implement automatically the settings. Another such method includes establishing a list of viewing categories, identifying preferred broadcast settings for each category, determining preferred categories for previous day/time combinations, predicting most likely to favored categories and settings, and automatically implementing such settings when the corresponding day/time combination is present. Yet another such method includes characterizing a particular program segment by at least one broadcast attribute, determining those broadcast settings most favorable for this segment based on such characterizing, and adjusting the set automatically for the user to implement these most favorable broadcast settings for the segment.
Abstract:
A remote support site having a detector internally collecting information on a user-selectable intrinsic broadcast characteristic of a media-playing set or television and a server enabling specification of a preferred setting for such characteristic from this information. A method including maintaining a remote site, therefrom internally collecting information from the set about a user-selectable intrinsic broadcast characteristic, and therefrom specifying a preferred setting for such characteristic. A similar method but information detected upon user request about user-adjustable component for selecting on-screen characteristic and final step is remotely adjusting component. A similar method but information is about broadcast characteristic potentially selectable initially by user instead remotely specified initially. A similar method but information is about plural broadcast characteristics and final step is remotely providing settings for each. Two methods on menu-free TV control via remote and a method listing possible broadcast outcomes so user can readily target outcome to resolve.

Abstract:
The present invention provides an encapsulated 3-D conductive pillar and a method of formation thereof. Significant economic savings are achieved by filling a substantial portion of the volume of the pillar with a lesser expensive conductive material. Additionally, the encapsulated 3-D conductor pillar forms a suitable unreactive, oxygen-stable electrode for use with high-dielectric constant (HDC) materials as the encapsulating barrier layer metal provides a stable conductive interface between the HDC material and the encapsulated conductive material.
Abstract:
Synthetic peptides and peptide copolymers for amelioration of autoimmune neurological syndrome, inflammatory and/or demyelinating conditions such as encephalomyletis are provided herein. The synthetic peptides and peptide copolymers as disclosed are obtained by substitution of at least one alpha amino acid by beta amino acid and/or β3-homo amino acid.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present invention relate to systems and methods for session synchronization between multiple devices connected to a server system.

A chromium-molybdenum-vanadium (Cr—Mo—V) cast steel including 0.04 to 0.08% by weight of niobium is disclosed. The cast steel may include 0.08 to 0.12% by weight carbon. The cast steel may also have a sulphur content of 0.015% by weight or less, and a phosphorus content of 0.02% by weight or less. The silicon content may be 0.30 to 0.60% by weight, the manganese content may be 0.50 to 0.80% by weight, the chromium content may be 1.20 to 1.50% by weight, the molybdenum content may be 0.90 to 1.10% by weight, and the vanadium content may be 0.20 to 0.30% by weight.
Abstract:
A motor driver comprises a first power supply, a second power supply, a multiplexer, and an output power module. The first power supply provides a first power signal after a first period. The second power supply provides a second power signal after a second period, where the second period is longer than the first period. The multiplexer initially selects the first power signal and then selects the second power signal. An output power module controls a motor and receives power from an output of the multiplexer.
