摘要: In a luminescence device formed of one or plural layers of organic film between a cathode and an anode, at least one layer is a luminescence layer, and a luminescence molecule of a metal coordination compound having a basic structure represented by formula (1) MLmL′n and having a substituent on at least one of cyclic groups incorporated as a guest in a host material at a concentration of at least 8 wt. %, which is higher than a concentration at which a luminescence molecule of a similar structure but having no substituent exhibits a maximum luminescence efficiency to form the luminescence layer. As a result, a high-efficiency luminescence device is provided, which is less likely to cause concentration extinction even when a luminescence molecule is contained at a high concentration relative to the host material in the luminescence layer.

摘要: A luminescence device is constituted by a substrate, a first electrode disposed on the substrate, at least one organic luminescence function layer disposed on the first electrode, a second electrode disposed on the above at least one organic luminescence function layer, and an oxygen absorbent disposed between the substrate and the second electrode or between the first and second electrodes. To the luminescence device, a voltage is applied between the first and second electrodes to cause phosphorescence from at last one layer constituting the above-mentioned at least one organic luminescence function layer preferably containing the oxygen absorbent. The oxygen absorbent may be formed in a layer disposed at a region other than pixel portions.

摘要: A metal coordination compound having a basic structure represented by formula: MLmL′n (1), wherein M is a metal atom of Ir, Pt, Rh or Pd; L and L′ are mutually different bidentate ligands; m is 1, 2 or 3; wherein at least one bidentate ligand has a partial structure formed by condensation via an alkylene group having 2-10 carbon atoms, is provided. In an electroluminescence device composed of one or a plurality of organic films disposed between a cathode and an anode, at least one layer is a luminescence layer which is formed by incorporating luminescence molecules constituting the metal coordination compound having a structure of the formula (1) described above as a guest material in a host material thereby to provide an electroluminescence device producing luminescence at high efficiency and stably keeping a high luminance for a long period.

摘要: A light emitting device comprises a pair of electrodes and an organic light emitting layer between the electrodes. The organic light emitting layer includes a host material, a first phosphorescent dopant, and a second dopant different from the first phosphorescent dopant. The amount of the second dopant is greater than the amount of the first dopant in the organic light emitting layer. The host material, the first phosphorescent dopant and the second dopant are mixed throughout the organic light emitting layer.

摘要: An electroluminescence device having a layer containing a specific metal coordination compound is provided. The metal coordination compound is represented by formula (1) below: MLmL′n (1), wherein M is a metal atom of Ir, Pt, Rh or Pd; L and L′ are mutually different bidentate ligands; m is 1, 2 or 3 and n is 0, 1 or 2 with the proviso that m+n is 2 or 3; a partial structure MLm is represented by formula (2) shown below and a partial structure ML′n is represented by formula (3) or (4) shown below: The metal coordination compound of the formula (1) is characterized by having at least one aromatic substituent for at least one of CyN1, CyN2, CyC1 and CyC2. The metal coordination compound having the aromatic substituent is effective in providing high-efficiency luminescence, long-term high luminance, and less deterioration by current passing.
