摘要: The request from the client to the server is made through the traffic control apparatus. The traffic control apparatus includes a unit for controlling the request from the client, a unit for judging the data reception performance of the client and a unit for controlling the number of clients simultaneously connected to the server. The number of simultaneous connections in the server is controlled so that the resource of the server can be utilized sufficiently and the requests in number exceeding the performance of the server cannot be transferred. When it is expected that it takes time longer than a fixed time to provide the service to be required to the client, the request is rejected and when it is expected that the service can be provided within the fixed time, the request is received.

摘要: The present invention decreases the burden of operation required for specifying the continuity status and the cause of failure of a network storage device. A host computer accepts the specification of the device identifier, that is an identifier of the network storage device in the host protocol which positions in a higher hierarchy than the network communication protocol, and a volume identifier, that is an identifier of the volume. Then based on the specified device identifier, the host computer specifies the network identifier, that is an identifier of the network storage device in the network communication protocol. And continuity is confirmed in the network communication protocol in which the specified network identifier is the destination. Also continuity is confirmed in the host protocol in which the device identifier is the destination. And the volume specified by the volume identifier is accessed.

摘要: User authentication information for network of a user and a name of a server to be accessed are sent from a client terminal to a user management equipment realized by one of servers which constitute a network system. The user management equipment sends the network address of that server and user authentication information registered for that server back to the client terminal. Using these pieces of information, the client terminal logs in that server. Each of the servers used by the user notifies the user management equipment of the actual accounts for the user at preferable times. Using the notified information, the user management equipment manages the actual accounts of each user. Each user can know the total of actual accounts for the servers used by accessing only the user management equipment.

摘要: A power supply with an inverter capable of avoiding the inverter from producing excessive high voltage when a load is detached or the load impedance is greatly increased. The inverter is energized by a fixed DC voltage source and includes at least one switching element and an L-C resonant circuit. The switching element is driven to turn on and off and cooperative with the L-C resonant circuit to produce a high frequency AC voltage at an inverter output for driving a load. The inverter includes first and second clamping diodes connected in series across the DC voltage source in anti-parallel relation thereto with the first and second diodes defining therebetween a first connection point. Also included in the inverter is a pair of first and second impedance elements which are connected in series across the inverter output to provide a divided voltage indicative of an output voltage of the inverter with the first and second impedance elements defining therebetween a second connection point. The first and second connection points are connected to each other so as to keep the points at a voltage level nearly equal to a fixed voltage of the DC voltage source, in such a manner as to limit the output voltage of the inverter below a predetermined level by allowing a clamping current to flow through the first and second diodes and impedance elements and through the DC voltage source to escape the excessive voltage developed in response to the increase in the impedance of the load.

摘要: In a state where the migration source NAS apparatus is continuously operated, a migration processing program confirms the update date and time of files stored in the migration source NAS apparatus, and migrates only the files that were not updated from a specific time to the start date and time of migration processing. Or, the migration processing program migrates the files stored in the migration source NAS apparatus sequentially from the oldest file. The migration performance is calculated based on the capacity and migration time of the migrated files, and the time required for migrating the non-migrated files is calculated based on the size and migration performance of the non-migrated files.

摘要: To ensure the consistency of data included in blocks which have already been received and has already been remote-copied, on a file basis, in a destination NAS system, when remote copy has failed due to a failure which has occurred in a source NAS system, there is provided a method in which: a source NAS system transmits a correspondence between an updated block and a file, to a destination NAS system when remote copy is started; the destination NAS system records a remote copy state for each block; a management server refers to the information recorded by the destination NAS system and selects files from which all the update blocks have been received, when remote copy has failed due to a failure which has occurred in the source NAS system; and the destination NAS system stores data included in the update blocks of the files selected by the management server.
