Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide an image display apparatus capable of inhibiting or preventing the deterioration of a light conversion layer while high luminous efficiency and high color reproducibility are achieved. The present invention provides a light-emitting device including a pair of electrodes, an electroluminescent layer disposed between a first electrode and a second electrode, a light conversion layer including multiple pixels and converting light that is emitted from the electroluminescent layer and that has a blue emission spectrum into light having a different wavelength. The light conversion layer includes pixels of three primary colors of red (R), green (G), and blue (B) and contains a light-emitting nanocrystal having an emission spectrum in any of red (R), green (G), and blue (B) when light from the electroluminescent layer is incident on at least one of the three primary colors.

Abstract: Provided are a compound represented by general formula (I), a liquid crystal composition that uses the compound, and a liquid crystal display device that uses the liquid crystal composition. Adding the compound represented by general formula (I) to a liquid crystal composition can prevent degradation of the liquid crystal composition by light, heat, etc. The compound represented by general formula (I) dissolves well in the liquid crystal composition. Thus, when the compound represented by general formula (I) is used, a liquid crystal composition having both low viscosity (η) and high reliability can be prepared, and a high-speed response liquid crystal display device can be provided.

Abstract: The present invention provides a compound represented by the general formula (I), and a polymerizable composition containing the compound. When the polymerizable composition containing the compound represented by the formula (I) is used to form a filmy product, the resulting filmy product exhibits less change over time in phase difference and reverse wavelength dispersion and when the filmy polymer is irradiated with UV light, peeling from a substrate is unlikely to be caused. Further, the invention provides a polymer obtained through polymerization of the polymerizable composition and an optically anisotropic body obtained using the polymer.
