Abstract:
New compositions and methods are described for modulating the rate of conversion of ethylene bisdithiocarbamate fungicides, such as mancozeb, into ethylene bis-isothiocyanate sulfide (EBIS).
Abstract:
Herbicidal emulsifiable concentrates containing an aryloxyphenoxypropionic acid herbicide and a non-petroleum derived built-in adjuvant such as a plant-derived methylated seed oil or a vegetable oil concentrate are useful for controlling undesirable vegetations, and exhibit improved herbicidal efficacy on weeds, particularly in an aquatic environment such as in flooded rice paddy or field.
Abstract:
New compositions and methods are described for modulating the rate of conversion of ethylene bisdithiocarbamate fungicides, such as mancozeb, into ethylene bis-isothiocyanate sulfide (EBIS).
Abstract:
Safener complexes comprising cloquintocet acid, or a salt thereof, and an amine-containing polymer or oligomer as well as compositions comprising these safener complexes are provided. Also provided are methods of controlling undesirable vegetation in a crop, comprising applying to vegetation or an area adjacent to the vegetation or applying to soil or water to prevent the emergence or growth of the undesirable vegetation in a crop, a safened herbicidal composition comprising a herbicide and a safener complex comprising cloquintocet acid, or a salt thereof, and an amine-containing polymer or oligomer.
Abstract:
Methods and compositions to reduce spray drift during application and/or volatility after application can be reduced by incorporating certain tertiary amine or tertiary amine oxide surfactants into an aqueous herbicidal spray mixture containing dicamba. The use of the choline salt of dicamba and the presence of 3,6-dichlorosalicylic acid (DCSA) or a salicylic acid derivative can further reduce drift and volatility. In some embodiments, the composition can contain one or more additional pesticides, such as glyphosate, glufosinate, or mixtures thereof. The concentration of 3,6-dichlorosalicylic acid or the salicylic acid derivative is typically greater than about 25 ppm by weight of the spray mixture.
Abstract:
Half salts of certain synthetic auxin herbicides are provided. These half salts are useful for controlling unwanted plant growth. The half salts have low solubility in water, low volatility relative to commercial compositions of the corresponding synthetic auxin herbicides, and offer comparable herbicidal performance when compared to existing salts of the synthetic auxin herbicides.
Abstract:
This invention relates to stable liquid formulations of the nitrification inhibitor nitrapyrin comprising polar solvents that are stabilized with small amounts of compounds which help to reduce the tendency of polar solutions of nitrapyrin to corrode metal surfaces. Many of the formulations disclosed herein exhibit useful physical, chemical, and bioactive properties including reduced levels of corrosion when in contact with ferrous metals.
Abstract:
Spray drift during the application of an aqueous mixture of glyphosate and an auxinic herbicide is reduced by incorporating certain tertiary amine or tertiary amine oxide surfactants into the aqueous solution or mixture to be sprayed.
Abstract:
Pest controlling compositions exhibiting enhanced pesticidal activity levels are disclosed. In one embodiment, a composition includes at least one pesticide, at least one transition metal salt and least one proteinaceous material. In this embodiment, the composition exhibits enhanced pesticidal activity levels compared to a composition dissimilar only in not having the at least one transition metal salt and the at least one proteinaceous material.
Abstract:
The mixture of potassium or certain amine salts of glyphosate and dicamba allows the preparation of high-strength liquid compositions containing greater than 300 gae/L of total active ingredient loading if the pH is adjusted between about 6.0 and about 8.0. Compositions are particularly well-suited for herbicidal applications on crops that are resistant or tolerant to both glyphosate and dicamba.
